| Many people think I use a
"extractor" or a similar program to get my sounds. Unfortunately I've
never been able to find a program I could use. I know such programs do exist for
Quake, Diablo, StarCraft and other such games. There are programs that will look
into the data of the Fallout disk but I was never able to convert them to wavs. I
have a set of Yamaha speakers with a extra audio out plug in the back of the
speakers. When the game is playing I connect a wire from the back of my speakers
into a tape recorder.
From my tape recorder, I connect a wire from the audio out of my tape recorder to
the audio in of my sound card. I then record and edit the sounds using CoolEdit 96.
Note: These instructions will NOT work for everyone. Many people do
not have a audio out on their speakers. Hope this helps... |

(Updated Note: I was able to use a extractor on the Fallout 2 CD. However it
did not work for me when I used it on the Fallout CD)
