I'm going for a Bachelor in History with a specialization in Russian history, and a side-specialization in history of the US. Master will be Russian Studies, tho', not History. _________________

Been following this project for a while, shaping up very nicely.
Can sympathise strongly on the art-direction front. For a demo project I did, figured I could get away with focussing on the gameplay and letting the art slide quite a bit in terms of planning time. Later on in development it really came back to bite me horribly, you learn these things the hard way seemingly. Great to know they have the guts to acknowledge these issues though, as well as having the will to go back and tackle them - this level of openness is worthy of respect, imo. Many could learn!
Anyway, will there be weapon erosion? |

| I'm playing Depth of Peril now (an alfa preview copy for the Codex) - surprisingly stable and good (if you like action Diablo-like RPGs). |
I do! I'm playing Titan Quest (Diablo's most successfull clone so far, betwwen the ones I've put my hands on).
When it's fully complete and out to be played, do you mind posting here on NMA to let us know? Or maybe PM me ^^ |
Sure. I'll post a detailed preview in about a week.

| Are there any plans for the final pricing of AoD? I guess 50 USD would be pretty reasonable considering how long your team worked on it. |
$25 direct download, $50 for a box (proper full color box, full color manual with concept art , jewel case CD) plus shipping.

Too early to say, but I can assure you that we'll find a way to get the game to everyone who's interested. We can't afford to say "sorry, but we only do things a certain way". |

Sounds cool .
How many pages will the manual be? Will the game allow the buyer to play without having to keep the CD in drive or doing other weird things? _________________ Too much to do, not enough time to do it...

I am as pumped for AoD at least as much as I am for any mainstream title. The setting sounds interesting to me. I recently finished Jack Whyte's Camulod Chronicles, which paints the Arthur legend as kind of a last gasp of Roman civilization in Britain. From that view the "fall" of Rome (or the retreat of the Romans from much of the empire) was itself apocalyptic, a disintegration of order and the start of anarchy.
Good luck, VDweller - I'm looking forward to buying AoD. |

It sounds good so far, I like to see a developer who can say "hey we got this bit wrong, lets fix it" it makes a pleasant change from arrogant developers who "know best" and are "always right". Looks like they are showing a real interest in making the towns unique rather than just coping them from a template _________________

| For me, personally, it is too bad about the Roman-like setting. I find the "Ancient Times" very boring and unattractive, and studying it for a year as an obligated subject in university, even writing a boring paper about whether Roman families are extended or nuclear families, I kind of despite it. |

That's cool, man. You're gonna be like Indiana Jones, except for all the dangers and action situations ^^ Go research on Amazon Rainforest, here in Brazil. It's supposed that there are lots of undiscovered material of still unknow civilizations under the soil there. _________________
