How the hell do you get out of this place.

I'm dead serious here. I can't freaking leave. Could somebody post a screenie of the exit door? I've been wandering around for an hour, and I can't leave...

Damned place reminds me of Vivec from Morrowind.

I'm pretty sure there is some sort of bug that traps you inside if you wait there. Did you use your minimap?

Using my mini-map, I have only been able to get back to the staircase that I thought was near the entrance... however, no matter what door I take, I either end up on some ledge on the side of the carrier, or in the hallways.... argh...

try setting a way point on the map and following that... it doesn't make the map any easier to use, but helps you get your bearing on where to go.

Also, one of the exits (near the tables at the top of the short flight of stairs) in the Market area leads directly to the front entrance.

Some places are really confusing. And the map doesn't help because it's nigh impossible to distinguish different floors from each other.
Markers help a bit but not much. Especially in Rivet City, where several doors are exactly above each other.

Yeah, Rivet City can be confusing. A quick exit is available via the Marketplace, which is fairly easy to find by following the signs posted throughout the carrier. The ship's main entrance is located directly behind the hatchway door closest to the "Flack 'n Shrapnel's" stall. Alternatively, you can teleport to another map location from the flight deck, or jump down to the entrance ramp from one of the bulkhead balconies.

I would follow the posted signs in the hallways to the market place. If it doesn't take you to an exit, you will at least find one in the market.

Otherwise, just jump off the side of the ship and into the water.

I think you could try fast travelling from the Flight Deck to the map marker. Worked for me.
