I don't know if this would be possible, but I think it'd be cool if you got an advanced HUD when you wear a power armor helmet.
Maybe target highlighting or something.
Maybe toggleable nightvision.
etc.

I agree. Maybe a hopeful for FO4...? If they go the same direction as FO3, anyway, with FPS aspect. Even if they did the iso view from the first two, it could be more useful in caves (*cough* useless flares *cough*).
Damn or bad idea if i think about it i mean little green light from pipboy is making game more creepy while nightvision would break it...
Any one who played Penumbra knows what i mean...
If done right it could be way more atmospheric. Short range only with very washed out green night vision would make pitch black sections possible. I've said it before, going into most underground subway tunnels should have been much darker and much creepier. Walking in with a flashlight would make you a sitting duck but night vision could make it much better, I think this is an awesome idea.Originally Posted by gregor_y
No, but thanks for asking.
there were primitive infra red sights for weapons all the way back to ww2(i remember seeing a infra red scope on a stg/mp44 for example). considering that they did make laser weapons with tiny power cells i dont see why its too far fetched for them to have a sort of "first generation" night vision or infra red vision device installed in the helmet.
i think having a helmet hud similar to that republic commando star wars game is best. only looking at the eyes on the helmet it is pretty conceivable that the range of vision with the helmet on would be pretty damn limited. either way it would be difficult to do even with a construction set for fo3...
Yeah I like the night vison idea, I was wondering what the use of the light bulb is on teh BoS power armor helmet, might as well start by turning that thing on when the pip boy light is switched on.
I think nightvision for power armor is a great idea. Kinda cheezy without it.
In life I'm staring at you. In death there I sent you.
PRIMITIVE nightvision.

"Night Vision Goggles (80's science, not 50's science fiction)"
A basic image enhancer or something like that.
The idea is there should be at least SOME kind of visual upgrade for using power armor.
Optimally people should react differently too; they certainly should not be able to instantly recognize you. But I don't think such a thing would be possible to mod.
I remember funny comment of people in new reno when i was walking in power armorOriginally Posted by Nullifidian

If you talk to that kid in canturberry commons while wearing power armor right after you first see the antagonizer & mechanist do their stupid little fight, he'll comment on how you should join in and could be called "mister humongous" (or something) and have an army of super mutants.Originally Posted by gregor_y

Fallout is 50's sci-fi future and there is no night vision in 50's sci-fi future.

Well, Fallout 3 uses the same engine as Oblivion, and Oblivion has the Grey Fox mask. If you're unfamiliar with it, basically, you have a different reputation when wearing the Grey Fox mask, then when you are not wearing it. So, if you commit crimes while wearing it, and then remove it, no one will recognize you as the criminal (the reverse situation is also true).Originally Posted by Nullifidian
well as i have said there have been primitive systems, including infra red since ww2. not really 80's science.... though 80's science did make it small enough to actually wear a device like that on your face.Originally Posted by Mikael Grizzly
