What would make Fallout 4 a really good game??

I just got done beating fallout 1,2, and tactics (already bead 3 and NV), but here are somethings that i think would make fallout 4 even better then 3 and NV. 1) change weather, make it rain, snow, and stuff like that (hell if pokemon can do it i think it can be done with fallout) 2) add more songs to play on the pipboy, i love hearing the music on there and then getting attacked by a deathclaw, it makes the game even greater but when you play the game for 50+ hours it gets old after hearing the same 10 songs over and over 3) i saw people saying put cars in and all i have to say is NOOO! the only thing that would be nice is (if its placed in Chicago) maybe like a boat and have dlc's that go all along the Mississippi and 4) the thing i think we all wna see online play!! Itd be great to have online play and have a group of friends in your own clan and go around messin crap up. Those are just some of the things that i think would make it better. Tell me what you think would make it better and if you think anything that I've said is a good idea. Thanks!!!

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I wish the radio stations had much more music on them. I would even have gone so far as to pay for a radio DLC.

For online interaction, I'd be happy with some sort of marketplace kind of thing, where you can trade shit with players at a sort of bazaar dealie.

A big open co-op deal would never work, not with the game even vaguely like it is now.

Also, it's a lot easier to add seasons to pokemon than to fallout.
Let's suppose that you were able every night to dream any dream that you wanted to dream, and that you could, for example, have the power within one night to dream 75 years of dreams, or any length of time you wanted to have. And you would, naturally as you began on this adventure of dreams, you would fufill all your wishes. You would have every kind of pleasure you could concieve. And after several nights, of 75 years of total pleasure each, you would say "Well, that was pretty great. But now let's have a surprise. Let's have a dream which isn't under control. Where something is gonna happen to me that I don't know what it's gonna be." And you would dig that and come out of that and say "Wow, that was a close shave, wasn't it?". And then you would get more and more adventurous, and you would make further and further out gambles as to what you would dream. And finally, you would dream where you are now. You would dream the dream of living the life that you are actually living today.

not seasons but just different weather conditions.

and any type of online thing will do but it would be amazing if they just made a game souly for online (basically an MMORPG of fallout), but like i said anything will do.

and yes, i wouldnt care if there was a DLC of just music. I love the whole 50's thing and the music just needs more then what it has.

In regards to the radio, I'd rather the radios be used in a much more logical way instead of just for entertainment purposes. Like you can manually scan through the frequencies and pick up on enemy, ally, neutral, or caravan communications and use whatever info you can gather to your advantage. Learn where certain groups are or where they are going to be, get little snippets of their raid plans, or of deals about to go down. You'll be able to tell how close you are to groups that have radios by how much static there is and so on. That's what I want to see radios used for.

That could be cool coupled with a mechanic of setting up some means of triangulation. Like a couple of old radio antennas or something that you have to power on as part of a quest that will let you triangulate the location of people on the radio and get an idea for where things are.

I'm speaking vaguely, though, not with any intended quest lines or factions or anything, I'm just saying. That could all be tweaked for balance/functionality/the game, and the ability to triangulate radio signals could just be a benefit of resolving the quest a certain way.

@nburton10: Still, my point remains. it's far, far, far easier to implement that sort of thing in pokemon than in the next fallout game. Never mind that other than FO3, they haven't really existed in places that have a lot of different seasons.

EDIT: oh and they are making a Fallout MMO. Don't you pay attention to the news?

Yea, i know they're making one but from what i've read there's lawsuits goin on to see who has controll over so who knows when that be over if thats true. and yea, ik its easier to make seasons and environments for pokemon (I'm a major in IT) but it can be done, its not impossible all i was saying is that itd be nice to have that in the game.

They're sort of used for this purpose already in F3/NV but maybe not to the extent you're looking for. There's a lot of potential quests or 'points of interest' you hear about in Three Dog/Wayne Newton's regular broadcast. New DLC also often show up as a radio signal of some kind. If you're wandering Fallout 3 there is also something like a dozen limited ranged broadcasts (Reilly's Rangers, The Chinese radio, Morse code stations) that lead you to quests and hidden bunkers.

I think the OP has a point in that it would be cool if it was more like Pokemon.

Seriously though, the stuff you mentioned is

    1) Weather: Can and has been modded in.

    2) Boats/cars: Some sort of overhaul of the travel system is clearly called for, yes

    3) Radio: Easily modded. As for better quest integration with radio broadcast, I agree that this is p. cool (Reilly's Rangers style).

    4) Online Play: No thanks. Leave it to the MMOs. Integrated ingame marketplace COULD be fun though, if coupled with a semi-random loot system and more loot scarcity in general.

Why the laser hate? Honestly I'd be satisfied if we could get a laser rifle with iron sights that doesn't look like shit (something like this essentially: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloa...e.php?id=36492)

Fallout (1) never was about fat guns. By now, Fallout is... Gore and big guns.

Fallout 1 had turbo-plasma, super sledge, gatling laser, rocket launcher, minigun etc. And plenty of gore available. Don't really see your point here.

then simply ask your self for what reason you played Fallout 1 mainly - if you played it. Only to get a super turbo plasma rifle to slize poor targets in pieces ? Or for the rich story and moral of the wasteland. If the reason is the latter then you got Lexxs point. If the reason you played F1 is the first. Then I am afraid we can not explain it to you.

Not everyone played Fallout 3 for the "lazer gunz" either.

I'll admit it, I played Fallout 3 for plus 30 hours, but this was mostly due to my crazy Fallout addiction, I never did it for ph8t r0kket l33t stuff, or the sub-par (shit) quest writing.

But now my Fallout addiction has pretty much been solved by FNV (for now...) because much better writing does help (not just help, it felt as if after play Fallout 3 this writing would literally regrow my brains). Although FO3 pretty much implanted the need to find kewl weapons in my brain (although after every treck through extensive cave networks to get these weapons often leaving me wondering 'why?'), so I can't really argue that point anymore.

Back to the main topic, I reckon FO4 would be great if it:

    1. Stole a lot of the features from Van Buren, maybe set in the dustbowl or something. Steal location concepts and character concepts from Van Buren.

    2. A better system of travel. For example, no fast travel from random places, and certain towns and locations could have means of travel, such as caravan, or rail-route, something like that.

    3. More factions that are more rewarding/depressing than ones in FNV. Yeah the re-implementation of factions in FNV was great, it would just feel better if their was greater advantages/disadvantages to your actions with factions. To be honest the FNV faction system felt more like a social networking website, 'Goodsprings is now your Friend', fair enough it makes you feel good, but does it really affect your gameplay? (Sorry for rant)

Fallout 4 would better if I was installed as the almighty overseer of the project, with my advisers hand picked from this site.
