Fallout 2 mod Fallout 2 Restoration Project 2.2 (Unofficial Expansion)

"It's done when it's done!" is great, I personally think. So long as it is actually done, when it's done... ;) Which has absolutely been the case, in my experience, with killap's work so far. Well done, sir! Take your time. Maybe I'll even have forgotten more of the game, by the time you...

Fallout 2 Restoration Project 2.2 - OPEN BETA (ie NOT FINAL)

Eyefinity So, this is mostly of academic interest, I think, but I did finally get around to trying Eyefinity with the RP (well, with the high-resolution patch, more specifically, I believe): It works! With bezel-compensation on my triple Dell U2412M setup, that's an astounding 6028x1200...

Fallout 2 Restoration Project 2.2 - OPEN BETA (ie NOT FINAL)

Potential impact on performance, possibly: path-finding can chew through a lot of CPU, depending on implementation, I think. But maybe changing the resolution should also change the path-finding distance to a suitable setting, if this is possible. Still leaving the option for the user to...

I believe the problem is that in some cases at least, the music path variable in the CFG is present, but set incorrectly -- I know that in my case it was a bunch of meaningless gibberish! Is this case accounted for?

Fallout 2 Restoration Project 2.2 - OPEN BETA (ie NOT FINAL)

I'm pretty sure I originally played Fallout 2 on a 66MHz 486DX2 with 20MiBs of RAM (yeah, my PC was awesome like that  )... So, yeah, what killap said. I would even go so far as to say that anything you could possibly have bought in the last 10 years should be OK. Without going to...

Fallout 2 Restoration Project 2.2 - OPEN BETA (ie NOT FINAL)

First, if this is tricky to track down, forget it: it's goddamn hard to reproduce! The trick is to get noticed, after the initial fight, by Don before any of his surviving goons. I got "lucky" the first time in that everyone but Don and one other guy attacked me and got killed in the initial...

Fallout 2 Restoration Project 2.2 - OPEN BETA (ie NOT FINAL)

Surely you mean "its"...? I think I have come across a couple of cases where I've done stuff the script did not anticipate. No real show-stoppers, just some continuity issues: * I went to Metzger, learned of the Slaver's Camp location and immediately initiated combat and killed 'em...

Fallout 2 Restoration Project 2.2 - OPEN BETA (ie NOT FINAL)

:o Where's a Neuralyzer when you need one, eh...? :) Hopefully a bit less than that! But even in the worst-case scenario: this game came out way back in '98. I sure do hope it will still be going strong in 20 more years. ...Though, one does hope we will not be doing any real-life...

Fallout 2 Restoration Project 2.2 - OPEN BETA (ie NOT FINAL)

Thanks! You're the greatest! :notworthy: Vic with a (scoped) hunting rifle (or a Desert Eagle) is not bad. Rather good, in fact, I think. Also, @Killap: you really should re-play the game sometime if you haven't in a while! There's this great thing called the Fallout 2 Restoration Project...

Fallout 2 Restoration Project 2.2 - OPEN BETA (ie NOT FINAL)

Perhaps I wasn't clear: I meant to suggest that Kaga as well should, perhaps, disappear before reaching the edge of the map, if possible; not that Horrigan should not disappear!

Fallout 2 Restoration Project 2.2 - OPEN BETA (ie NOT FINAL)

Yes, I know: it's too low, right? I'm thinking it's time I took advantage of Eyefinity. How does 5760x1200 sound...?  But seriously: outstanding work by all the modders; a game designed to work at 640x480 is working flawlessly, really, at this much higher a resolution. I...

Fallout 2 Restoration Project 2.2 - OPEN BETA (ie NOT FINAL)

Wonderful work! Enjoying it immensely!! But... Kaga needs work. He tries to run away, but does not actually run off the map. So one can, if desired, end combat, approach Kaga and pop a few bullets in him. Rinse and repeat until Kaga's dead. I suppose it's possible I'm seeing bits of the...

    Free copy of Metro 2033

Actually, it's still US$20 from Steam. But it was included in the recent hugely-successful THQ Humble Bundle, where it could effectively have been acquired for as little as US$1, so I guess reality is not so far from what WorstUsernameEver suggests. So, very low-cost publicity for THQ and...

Fallout 2 Restoration Project 2.1.2b (Unofficial Expansion)

But how can you jinx it when you haven't specified which year...? ;) :D Take your time: I'm sure everyone would prefer "a little late, but perfect" to "early, but somewhat half-baked".

Fallout 2 Restoration Project 2.1.2b (Unofficial Expansion)

I believe this would be solved by setting compatibility settings (to Windows XP or whatever), preferably for all users (there's a checkbox for that), applying settings and then removing the compatibility settings. Not sure this would work as it's based on a theory I have, and not on anything...
