My save game crashes now! For some reason, the game stopped crashing regularly and I played through a bit of it and got to the Den and killed the Italian guy and got a gun. I saved my game and quit. Now I can't load that savegame. Whenever I try, I get an error that closes the game.

Whenever I click the little backpack icon on a dead spider, the inventory screen pops up and then the game crashes. I'm on Windows XP and this is a legit copy of Fallout 2 that was bought at Target. Any ideas why this happens? And how do you loot enemies when they die? (a bit off-topic, but...
