Nice! :) I'd gladly test it on XP and report back. Note that (as far as I know) different setups require different levels of sound acceleration, so for some "no acceleration" fixes the no sound problem but makes the music skip instead (read that somewhere here), while basic acceleration works...

I may have found a way. There are some registry entries that can be played with to change sound acceleration. The effect is instant and it seems to work without side effects (at least in XP, tested with dxdiag and F2), you'd only need to figure out a way to read the deviceid and the other...

So, googling for this "Fallout Revived Installer", I found that this is basically a pirated version of Fallout 1 or 2 with the unofficial patches already installed. Bad idea! Why should people here help you to figure out what mistakes dumb pirates made when they made their custom installer...

You're right, my bad. I googled the error message - this thread shows up, suggesting renaming the exe file helps, for whatever reason. If it's not that, I can imagine using something like "directx happy uninstaller" can seriously mess up your directx installation, so if nothing else works, a...

ng says this is about the Restoration Project, which has a modified exe with a timestamp from this year.

Unless I'm very much mistaken, the timestamp of Fallout2.exe is wrong. Shouldn't it have a 2010 date?
