What FO4 left (Spine with potential?)

Haven't personally played Fallout 4 & likely never will unless I get it for free on PSN or something. But, being one of those who gives jack about spoilers, and the fact that you know... it's a Bethesda "Fallout", I have read through the main plot, the sub-plots etc, essentially spoiled every...

    Repairing Fallout's story from Bethesda

My problem isn't actually so much that the East Coast BoS switched up their philosophy & thus broke away, my issue with them is that they are the most black-&-white, comic book style goodies with no ulterior motives. There's no nuance to them whatsoever. Like I mentioned earlier, an ideal revamp...

    Repairing Fallout's story from Bethesda

Well, that doesn't really say much about its quality though... Better than F3/4 isn't an achievement in any sense of the word.

Is Fallout: New Vegas a worthy Fallout game?

Well, some of the Van Buren stuff has been confirmed as canon (destruction of New Canaan comes to mind). But yeah, it would be nice to get some more exposition on the matter.

New to RPGs - where should i go next ?

I already suggested Baldur's Gate & Planescape has been mentioned several times in the thread already...

New to RPGs - where should i go next ?

Still a good introduction to the genre though, regardless of whether you like the game or not. Not too watered down but not too intimidating or heavy for newcomers. Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines is another title like that, although the game is somewhat... yeah...

New to RPGs - where should i go next ?

I agree, Morrowind is a good introduction to real RPGs - streamlined but still an RPG through & through. Going through Morrowind would also give you incentive to play Daggerfall, which is just platinum as far as RPGs goes.

What was the Funniest Argument You've had with a Bethesda Apologist?

I'm right with you. I pretty much just force myself through combat so I can get to the dialogue, especially in New Vegas (VATS, run around, VATS, run around & so on).

What was the Funniest Argument You've had with a Bethesda Apologist?

Yeah, not sure why he even bought an RPG when that's his mindset... He probably played Skyrim prior to NV & thought that's what an RPG was.

    Subm.: Mass Effect

Bought Mass Effect on release, it was ok I guess. Never played the sequels though, just didn't interest me whatsoever even though I love space operas.

What was the Funniest Argument You've had with a Bethesda Apologist?

I actually came across a guy who loved Fallout 3 but hated New Vegas because there were "too many factions, too many choices, too much dialogue" & that the game was "too complicated & required too much thinking". Summarily, he hated New Vegas for all the reasons we love it & loved Fallout 3 for...

    Repairing Fallout's story from Bethesda

Exactly. I mean the premise would still have to be that the East Coast BoS split from the original because they changed/tweaked their philosophy. The whole carving out some form of state is an expanding of sorts on the Midwest chapter's protection racket, which was a lot more nuanced than the...

New to RPGs - where should i go next ?

I think it's less than 1% of everyone who has bought them on Steam that have finished them, I was referring more to that. You're right though, if you know your D&D it isn't that hard but I doubt too many gamers nowadays do - especially those who are new to RPGs.

New to RPGs - where should i go next ?

Sadly that would be an absolute commercial suicide for Bethesda. The action-adventure fan-base who can only tolerate fragments of RPG elements they've accumulated since Oblivion would absolutely revile it. Having to use your brain even slightly is not what games are about today. Just look at how...

Is Fallout: New Vegas a worthy Fallout game?

Then go play it before your spout your opinion my brother. You're perception of F2 is completely false, I can tell you that much. If Fallout 1 is the original Mad Max then Fallout 2 is Beyond Thunderdome, that's the best way to describe it.
