Stellaris being genocide simulation is well established at this point.
Like the story about the person who gene modded members of a conquered species into livestock that they then harvested for food and then sold that food back to the empire they got conquered from.
I loved Elite. I played it so much that I would see swirling stars when I would close my eyes because I played so much.
It just became clear that the game... wasn't going to go anywhere really. It ended up stagnating and losing a lot of the appeal. What was the final nail in the coffin for me...
If I wanted to play the disappointing shallow space game, I'd play Elite: Dangerous again. At least I have good memories with that game instead of the boredom that Starfield unsurprisingly ended up being.
It's very linear and the places that have the most branching comes from how you go about origin character/companion quests. There's a few places it seems contrived that their stories are progressing in that particular place and time, for sure. The 3rd major location in particular feels so...
Mild interest. I enjoy the aesthetic at least. To echo what others say, definitely gives Bioshock Infinite impressions. But I'm willing to let someone else take a crack at it instead, maybe it'll end up being better.
Doing this fast so these aren't actually in a proper order, just 10 games that I think make my list, all for varying reasons.
1: Fallout 2
2: Space Station 13
3: Dwarf Fortress
4: Metro 2033
5: Victoria II
6: The Binding of Isaac
7: Project Zomboid
8: Sunless Sea
9: Dark Souls
10: Stardew Valley

You mean a distinct lack of structure in the chase for developers cutting corners to avoid putting together something cohesive in order to shovel things out faster player freedom?
Haven't watched it yet. After some updates and some mods coming out that did a few things I wanted I had already started fucking around in the game again.
Gigs and whatnot are all largely cookie cutter of course. But some of the side quests and main quest set pieces have been alright. As petty...
Blood Bowl is fun. If you guys haven't started yet though I'd say everyone should start with a fresh team. I believe you all can actually make a league just for yourselves, with each of you matched up and you can even check out how the other teams are doing inside said league. I haven't fiddled...
Looks like an interesting update. I haven't finished the game yet but I was enjoying the time I had with a few mods for extra cosmetic cyberware. I may give it another update while I wait for the big map in Total Warhammer 3 to come out.
