I don't know, a lot of American game communities I belong to play it quite a bit. I don't think interest has much to do with it. If you like games, if you like Paradox, then you'll play whatever they put out regardless of where it's set.

Dunwich was cool as hell. The Tenpenny Tower/metro location was pretty fun, if only because you could see it with rich humans in it and then later on with hideous ghouls tearing them limb from limb.

Stronghold 2 is trash but Mount & Blade is well worth your time, especially with mods.

That game was the shit and it's a shame it didn't get more love when it was released. The lighting was years ahead of its time and the mood was effortlessly dark and brutal. And of course the combat: wow.
