S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky shipping today in North America

The danger and scariness of SoC is a big part of what made the atmosphere so thick (and awesome). The Zone is a dangerous, scary place. If it wasn't for that it wouldn't be nearly as engrossing.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky shipping today in North America

So far, I like it. It's definitely more action-oriented than SoC, so far, though I've only played for 45 minutes or so.

8 reasons Fallout 3 will blow you away

Max Payne had the spinning slo-mo death-cam when you shot someone in the head with a sniper rifle. Fallout 3 isn't the first game to have that. This article is such trash, but I would expect no more from an Xbox site.

    New Age of Decadence Round-up

I'm looking forward to this one. We haven't had any hardcore cRPGs in a while.

Change to Fallout 3: Morphine becomes Med-X

I never saw a place in the Fallout universe for morphine, either. It seems pointless, redundant. Stim packs are for healing. Now kids are gonna be using Med-X not knowing it won't give you hit points back.

    FIFE Update

FIFE is dead to me now. Nah, just kidding, I wish them luck in their future endeavors.

    Censors force Fallout 3 changes

True, but I chalk that up to technological/time/resource restraints. It took a lot more work to get those animations in-game than it does for Bethesda now. Whereas in the past, they had to make the model, texture and animation, then record it from every angle and make sprites, Bethesda only...

    Censors force Fallout 3 changes

Perhaps they'll decrease the violence across all versions just because of Germany. I'd actually like that, depending on how far they went, since the gore is a bit too over the top for me. I mean, Fallout did gore over the top, but a sniper shot to the head didn't make all the limbs fall off.

The beta has begun. Who wants to be the guinea pig?

    Fallout 3 at PAX: RPGamer

That's what I was thinking. If you haven't played the originals, your opinion of Fallout 3 in contrast to the originals is null and void. Although I, too, agree that the young-uns are definitely more coddled than in the past (10 year olds have cell phones, parents take kids' word over...

Fallout 3 at PAX: Only the Games

So, we have two choices, shitty combat or... shitty combat?

    Fallout 3 at LGC: AusGamers

Sounds like we've uncovered the first "random encounter." I wonder what else they have in store, or whether there is in fact a way to save that woman.

    GameTrailers interviews Pete Hines

I never tried NOT getting the water chip... What happens? Video of how your vault died and that's it? Or does your quest to kill the Master continue?

Eurogamer previews Fallout 3 yet again

Mass Effect was fun, but I didn't enjoy the dialogue system. Often the choice on the "dial" sounded like the right direction, but the full sentence my character said was NOT what I was going for. I prefer full text choices.

    Pete Hines video interview

So does everyone else, the first few times through. After that we like to change stuff and improve the game. You don't like increasing replayability?
