    Shelter video

Are you using Torque to program the game? Some of your animations look as if they are not running at the correct frame rate, such as the player character walking in the first part of the video. And it might be YouTube making it look choppy, but to be sure I would check for a repeated frame...

    NMA: Fallout 3 review

VD's review is nice. After all the time we waited for it, I was hoping for something more substantial and analytical. What's there is good - but it could've been more. Good on him for getting it done, though. But I've been following the development of his own RPG, and I was really hoping to...

    What the hell? Communist... (spoilers)

What's this? A hollow, mindless, carelessly-conceived and lazily-implemented location in a Bethesda sandbox game the construction kit for which they are witholding indefinitely? I smell DLC a-coming!

Funny and Stark Example of Beth's Laziness...

This thread really got off-topic for a while, and that's sad, but it wasn't the fault of my post, and that's cool. :) Since it's already in a limbo-like zone, I'll go ahead reply now. I don't think I'll reply again after that; have your say too, naturally, but lets let this thing continue to...

Funny and Stark Example of Beth's Laziness...

I can't reply to a lot of the content of your post without likely breaking NMA posting rules regarding statements that could be interpreted as inflammatory personal insults. Suffice it to say that if you count "Star Wars, Godfather, and Pulp Fiction," as being "classic movies," I do not believe...

Funny and Stark Example of Beth's Laziness...

After reading the replies in this thread, and playing through many hours of the game myself (as I did with Oblivion) I really don't think that they actually, consciously made the decision to do that. I think we've all been wrong about that, and we should acknowledge that it's unfair to accuse...

Explanation: Emil. Sucker is crazy.

Funny and Stark Example of Beth's Laziness...

When I'm in combat with human NPC's, their facial expressions never change from the default. It's like battling mannequins or dolls - they're aiming at me with blank stares, and reacting in no observable emotive fashion to having bullets and lasers rend their flesh. It's so surreal that I...

How do I get to the GNR building?

They've got Chevy Chase in this game? And I thought that they ran out of celebrity money hiring Liam. :o

    4Too Appreciation Thread

I wonder if 4too even knows if I exist. *wistful sigh* or if he even believes that it is possible for other people to truly exist :( what if he's an existentialist?

The Socioeconomic Fabric of Bethesda's PA-DC: Dumb

It's not just that the setting doesn't make logical sense as an abstract issue of interest only to students of history or economics. What it means, how it matters, is that, in the first two Fallout games, each town (and even most individual NPC's) really felt (to you the player) as if they...

"Alien Blaster" - Did the Game Try to Steal Your A

You call it a nod, I call it stealing. It had already been done before - and it was done better to boot. Well, what happened in my game, was I heard a peculiar sound, like a missile whooshing, and turned around quickly to try to find the source. I just caught a smoke-trail and cloud in the...

The Socioeconomic Fabric of Bethesda's PA-DC: Dumb

I think you are labouring under a misapprehension as to the nature and content of my arguments. My objections don't stem from a lack of "reality," but a lack of intelligence and stimulation. I'm not asking that the elements of Fallout3's setting all conform to standard socioeconomic theory...

The Socioeconomic Fabric of Bethesda's PA-DC: Dumb

Hi BW, Well I don't understand why there would be "citizens" of any of those places (apart from Rivet City, which I haven't visited, but sounds from descriptions in this thread as if it could be self-sustaining.) Nor can I see why there would be caravans going between them when no one...

The Socioeconomic Fabric of Bethesda's PA-DC: Dumb

I just don't understand it, sorry. There seems to be very little actually keeping anyone in the area - very little material incentive. In the Black Isle games, the world made pretty good sense. Isolated towns had no-one to depend upon but themselves and traders going between them, and...
