I installed the GOG version of Fallout 2 in a new 32-bit Wine prefix. It works out of the box, but I had to tell Wine to use the native version of ddraw in order for the changes I made to ddraw.ini to have any effect.
The problem I'm experiencing now is the game becomes so slow in Trapper Town...
I traded one of 1 END for 1 CHA and was able to recruit Cassidy. Figured the magnetic personality wasn't doing what it was supposed to, but then I was also able to recruit Sulik. So I guess it works?
Maybe recruiting Cassidy caused some value to be recalculated which Falche didn't.
Sure but 1/2 rounded down is 0 plus 1 for magnetic personality = 1, right?
I'm curious now what happens if I start a new character and pick up the perk legit instead of using Falche to add it later.
Having played Fallout 1 several times I didn't RTFM before playing Fallout 2. So I made a character with CHA 1, not realizing I wouldn't be able to recruit any companions. By the time I got to Vault City and figured out why I couldn't recruit Cassidy, I didn't want to start over.
I downloaded...
When I try to put 1024x576 into the custom resolution field (hi-res patch config utility) and start Fallout, I get the error:
I did add this resolution via the Intel HD Graphics control panel. Am I missing something?
(I am trying this resolution because my native 1366x768 is too small.)...
Sorry if this has been asked already, but does Fixt work for the Mac version of Fallout from GOG?
Edit: I found this post that indicates the "fixes only" version is compatible with OSX as alpha.
Is this a good place to argue/complain? Because I'd like to point out that the game is extremely boring for at least a few reasons:
1. Dungeons go on forever
2. Endless repetitive combat
3. Kiting is a must when it comes to many types of enemies
I suppose the game was basically trying to...
