Troika wasn't really doing well. Arcanum was the last breath of serious CRPGs, which didn't necessarily sell well. TOEE also sold poorly, and so did VTMB. They were buggy at launch and cause a lot of players to bounce off them. I think Troika getting access to the IP wouldn't have done it any...
I don't deny that the classics were highly praised and well worth their place in gaming lore. But the Bethesda games definitely introduced a new generation of players to the universe. I think intentions were good in FO3, but certainly the series has become a parody of itself at this point.

My take is that Bethesda's decision to focus much more on the 50s aesthetic in FO3 and FO4 helped save the franchise and provided a much more cohesive theme. That being said, I still prefer the aesthetic of the classics.
Hey y'all, need some help. Every time I try to enter Phoenix, the game crashes. I get in between the 2 buildings and I get an error message. I am running version 1.14 with the up-to-date English translation mod. Any help would be appreciated. Attached is my error message.
