Wasteland 2 shows the same mistake that made by Bethesda: the world and its society feels like that apocalypse just happened yesterday even though the story take setting 100 years or so after a nuclear war. Can see where you are coming from. While Wasteland 2 quite shine on its individual writing pieces, it doesn't have the luxury of well-thought background of Fallout.
