Actually, I've always love this gun simply because of the huge revolver piece. It just makes it so much cooler. I'm sure they designed for looks and function.
Thanks guys. The one pictures on my site isn't the final copy but I wanted to put something there for reference since I'm not ready to offer finished pipboys. It's actually my paint practice piece. I do have kits available though that you can paint yourself.
Before the finished ones will be...
I can't believe I never updated this thread but I've been so busy this last year. I worked to get the most accurate looking pipboy and I think I did a pretty cool job. Even the second button is missing. Right now I'm finishing a new silicone mold so I'll have these available at my site again...
I live right near Philadelphia so I might be screwed so I would definitely go underground and make myself a home in a large drainage system. Wearing my vault 13 costume of course.
Wait, what?! They created the damn thing and you think they don't deserve the rights? Are you serious?

And you have to remember back when this came out 3D graphics weren't that advanced so it was probably just easier to make it tight. A wrinkled outfit would have taken...
It was made from pieces of a storage bin, fiberglass and took forever getting it nearly exact. After working on this thing for so long I kind of lost initiative. Maybe in the future I just finished a mold of it so I can make copies. Maybe with those I'll add working tubes and lights.
I actually made one this summer for comiccon. I made an accurate pipboy 2000 also.
Sadly I've been extremely busy with school so I haven't been posting here since. For me I always assumed the suit looked like spandex in the game because wrinkled clothing is so much harder to do and a 3d...
Sadly, I had to rush the prototype so I couldn't add the tubes but I did find these small bulbs at walmart that will look great. Once I make the mold for the prototype I'll be wiring in lights and doing the final paint up. In the days since the comiccon I've been creating the stencils I'll use...
