    Trzynasty Schron interviews New Vegas leads

    I think it's used as one of the loading screens in Fo2.

    Huh, Las Vegas is a really huge city

    Las Vegas is invincible as long as the house bets against a missile landing. Hahaha.

    What game was this?

    Crimsonland.

    Motivation

    I have problems with motivation too. Actually my work efficiency has dropped by 90% in last two weeks. Yeah, and I start doing tons of things like learning to sing/program/script/draw/etc. and I never finish them.

    Trend towards linearity (CYOA->RPG)

    Professionals still have to work hard. They just get better results from their work. I think that rarity of developers is the real problem now. Also, Torchlight is for 20$, not 30$. IIRC, AoD will be 25$ which is less than newest Vogel's "masterpieces".

    Trend towards linearity (CYOA->RPG)

    Yeah. It's probably still a lot harder than modding and modding is a lot of hard work. Personally, I find the part where I have to focus on learning programming beyond cin and cout to be an insurmountable obstacle.

    Trend towards linearity (CYOA->RPG)

    Amen to that. As long as the art/mechanics/story-telling guys do a good work, I'm willing to accept a game on very limited tech level (C=64 Laser Squad-style graphics, for example). A special edition with an old-school 80s-style box and a thick manual a clothmap and other goodies would be...

    Trend towards linearity (CYOA->RPG)

    I've played several hours of Geneforge, Avernum and Nethergate (Nethergate is probably the only Vogel's game that has semi-decent graphics). They were pretty playable, though not good enough to make me crave to play them like Fallout, PST and other good games did. I have found a lot of freeware...

    Most hated Fallout 1 or 2 character?

    Tandi and Laura because they aren't fuckable/rapable.

    How picky are or should Gaming Critics be?

    They should start using 6 point scale based on school degrees. 1 - unplayable 2 - playable 3 - playable with some good features 4 - playable with some great features 5 - very playable, very good with some great features. 6 - pure greatness 1-4 on 1-10 scale don't really make sense, as...

    Trend towards linearity (CYOA->RPG)

    Their graphics aren't incredibly dated - lots of older games and games using older technology (yeah, including some C=64 games) look much much better. They are simply hideous, especially the character avatars and the interface. Personally, I have never bought and I will never buy any of their...

    Editorial on the gaming "industry" and pricing

    Not all digital goods have giant production costs. It's absolutely possible to release a high quality music CD for 20-30PLN (which is what I'm buying my music CDs for since I stopped buying western music) instead of 50-60PLN. It's not an absolute truth. Also, looking from the opposite...

    Editorial on the gaming "industry" and pricing

    I'm not saying that anyone is forcing me to buy games. I'm saying that I refuse to buy them above certain price, just as distributors refuse to sell them under certain price. It is a luxury product, but not in the same way as a Mercedes car for example. There aren't any magical raw...

    Editorial on the gaming "industry" and pricing

    Done. Still, I'm not interested in working to pay someone's American wages. I'm not going to get American wages here, I'm not going to pay American wages here. It includes not buying immaterial stuff so that someone could get his inflated American wage. I'd rather keep the money for...

    I don't care about Fallout setting - it is an used setting anyway. I would accept even Lioneheart as a successor of Fallout if it would have a similar gameplay. Too bad that it didn't...

    Postworld Mod for Crysis announced

    Oh. The "original Fallout 3" thing has confused me. Frankly, it looks pretty pointless to me, unless they are going to add expanded moddability and much better game mechanics.
