Fallout 2 Restoration Project 1.2 (Unofficial FO2 Expansion)

San Francisco is horrid. Even if you put aside that it's an incongruous throwback to Big Trouble in Little China, it's obvious it was rushed and one of the last towns worked on. There's like nothing to steal from any of the shelves.

Fallout 2 Restoration Project 1.2 (Unofficial FO2 Expansion)

Killap did kind of explain that with one character, I think, where it's taboo to speak about Kaga after his "fall".

Fallout 2 Restoration Project 1.2 (Unofficial FO2 Expansion)

That's just unfair to Darth Vader. Vader is a legitimately scary guy. He doesn't refer to himself in third person or bawl that he'll be back to get you next time when you defeat him. If you met Darth Vader in person you would shit yourself. If you met Kaga you wouldn't be able to take him...

Fallout 2 Restoration Project 1.2 (Unofficial FO2 Expansion)

The Kaga encounters were neat. The problem I had with them was Kaga's own lameness. It was quite incredible that this guy was the great first Chosen One who had been "corrupted" by the Wastes when he behaved like I. R. Baboon.

Fallout 2 Restoration Project 1.2 (Unofficial FO2 Expansion)

I stuff all the quest-related items I have no use for anymore in the car trunk, so that may have attributed to how I was never able to encounter this bug. I've also never had any saved games corrupted when saving in combat, so luck must play a part. I suppose I paid for it by getting hit with...

Fallout 2 Restoration Project 1.2 (Unofficial FO2 Expansion)

Strange, I've replayed FO2 multiple times and have never encountered the Too Many Items Bug. I'm quite the hoarder, too.

Fallout 2 Restoration Project 1.2 (Unofficial FO2 Expansion)

Great timing for me since I'm about to finish replaying FO1. Hopefully the NPC Leveling bug is fully fixed. It was screwing me hard in RP 1.2.

    Van Buren on SS

I think I've suggested this before. Yes, SS's engine seems perfect for a new (real) Fallout sequel. We don't know how moddable it is, though, for complex open-ended gameplay. Silent Storm only has combat going for it. Everything else is pretty terrible.

wanted: a decent guy to sleep with in the wasteland.

There's no concept of casual sex for a female character in Fallout 2, aside from the Bishop sexcapades, I guess. You're either banging dudes to trade for stuff or straight out whoring yourself out. Davin/Miria don't count, since they're baggage in disguise. And yeah, most of the males you can...

Eidos' Tomb Raider: Underworld Review Shenanigans

She's very boring. During interviews she has no personality. Keeley Hawes, on the other hand, the chick who currently voices Lara, isn't half bad for a woman in her thirties. Carrol and all of the past Croft models (Rhona Mitra aside) have no charisma. Plus Lara never looks like any of the women...

Eidos' Tomb Raider: Underworld Review Shenanigans

Sorry for the cosmic derail that could rend this thread asunder, then.

Eidos' Tomb Raider: Underworld Review Shenanigans

If, say, Greg Kasavin got fired, it would've been a different story. In this case the fool is being hailed as the martyr, and it's annoying.

Eidos' Tomb Raider: Underworld Review Shenanigans

Gerstmann isn't what you would call a good critic, or even a halfway decent critic, so that he was fired for that review and is being treated like a martyr is highly annoying. The publicity actually helped him launch a site of his own called GiantBomb. He's probably making more money off it than...

    Gripes about the writing

It's been mentioned already, but generally the dialogue in Fallout 3 wasn't bad. It wasn't as good as the dialogue in the previous Fallouts (which was generally good but inconsistent at times because there was more than one writer) and I don't think it was as well-acted. The big problem, though...

Most Overrated Games of This Gen?

There were about ten "fucks", I think? That would be about one fuck per entry, maybe two in a few. I find it normal to throw in a shit or a fuck every few sentences when talking to friends, so the language in that list didn't bother me. Overuse of foul language, though, can detract...

Most Overrated Games of This Gen?

MGS4 created more problems than it fixed, in that it bled suckage. I don't see a point in arguing about this, though, since we're both fans of the series and obviously aren't going to change our positions. I can only hope MGS5 will be legitly great. We know they aren't going to stop at 4.

Most Overrated Games of This Gen?

I enjoyed Halo 2 but haven't played Halo 3 yet, I'm still wondering why. I love the MGS series, but I just can't pretend that MGS4 was anything but a pile of garbage. In my opinion, Kojima took a piss over his own beloved franchise with MGS4.

Most Overrated Games of This Gen?

I played Oblivion on the PC, with a shitton of mods that make things look better, so I can't comment any more here What I'm trying to say is I don't even remember how vanilla Oblivion looks like. VVVVVVV

Most Overrated Games of This Gen?

I honestly find Fallout 3's character models ugly as sin, and I don't even dislike it that much.

Most Overrated Games of This Gen?

I was thinking of professional reviewers working for mainstream publications. You'd think that at least someone wouldn't have been paid off. It's an average game and too much like Oblivion, definitely fails as a Fallout sequel - 9s and 10s being thrown around like hotcakes are just fucking...
