Well said (or written, whatever). At some point the gaming industry will probably hit some kind of roof where they can no longer grow like this, and the costs companies are taking on today will probably destroy many of them, especially the more shortsighted ones. Hopefully the first companies to...
Cool videos. StarCraft 2 sure looks very StarCraft, guess I won't be withdrawing my pre-order :)
Edit: Has anyone else noticed that Blizzard released a StarCraft patch which now allows for decent CPU throttling? If I'm not mistaken, the original was coded so that it uses a lot of unnecessary...
I doubt we are heading for anything like the time just before the video game industry crash in the early 80's (though we could probably need the industry to be shaken a bit back towards its roots), but I would definitely say that games nowadays have lost something they had before. I would guess...
Some of it looks pretty nice, some not so nice. I hope they capture that feeling of loneliness that you could feel, especially when walking around in the Prime games. The intro music felt rather Metroid, at least, always something :)

As far as I can remember, the original dog was at least quite a good combat ally with many knockdown criticals (though somewhat lacking in intelligence when dealing with forcefields). This one is simply lacking...
I'm running Fallout 3 on a Athlon64 X2 2.3 GHz with a Radeon 4850 (pretty much equal to your videocard), 4 Gigs of RAM and a similar motherboard. It works fine for me (30+ FPS most of the time at 1680x1050 with something like 2xAA and 8xAF, or so) so you should be just fine with that CPU and...
I just finished Star Fox Adventures a few days ago. Pretty nice game, kinda like a more laid-back Zelda or something, and with music sometimes reminding me about watching the Lion King movie as a kid. At times, I would say it looks about as good as Metroid Prime, which is not bad for another GC...
I have never really gotten into this whole MMORPG stuff, but I am thinking about trying out Star Trek Online once Cryptic releases it, mostly because I'm a big Trek fan and because some of what they said about it sounded different and interesting. Time will tell, though...
