General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

I've just started reading the Witcher books myself - I'm about 100 or so pages in on The Last Wish, the first book in the series (in case you didn't know, the first and second books are short story collections; the third one, in story line order, Blood of Elves, is the first full novel). So far...

Why can't Bethesda fans see the forest for the trees?

I like to think that myself, but then I see "gems" like this one posted on Bethesda.net and I honestly have to wonder. So in one Far Harbor quest, Bethesda tries something just a little bit different than yet another Radiant "Kill-Loot-Return" mission, and this guy writes a pseudo-intellectual...

    Nuka World Discussion

You can get rid of the radiation at the drive-in by scrapping the barrels sitting in the puddle.

Anyone Else think Shoddycast has become a Bethesda Bum-licking channel?

If they do something like that then they will have thoroughly beclowned themselves. You could make the argument that they're "realigning" Fallout to fit their vision for the series; we may not like the results, but they did buy the IP so it's theirs to do with as they will, and in the end we...

Anyone Else think Shoddycast has become a Bethesda Bum-licking channel?

But they fail to grasp that while realism doesn't matter in an unrealistic world, maintaining consistency with the rules, customs, physical laws, etc. created for that unrealistic world absolutely does matter. The world of Harry Potter is totally unrealistic, but everything that happens in it...

    This is extremely disappointing...

Wish I could be more helpful, but the very first rule of playing any Bethesda game is, save early, save often, and when in doubt, save again.

    This is extremely disappointing...

It doesn't appear that there's a fix for this or for any of the other numerous bugs in Automatron. Short of reloading a save from before the NPC went perma-hostile, I don't know what to tell you.

    Best Fallout game

You can kind of cheese Quarry Junction - there are lots of places where you can climb up on rocks and other features (like that big dragline), snipe at them and engage them singly or in small groups. As long as you're patient and good at using the terrain for tactical advantage, and you have...

Anyone Else think Shoddycast has become a Bethesda Bum-licking channel?

Take a deep breath, and then push the "IT JUST WORKS!" button?

    What's the point??

Once TES 6 is released you'll be able to leave that boring old shit behind too!

    What's the point??

Hate to break this to you, but Bethesda's hardly the only AAA developer out there supporting these kinds of practices. They all seem to be racing in this direction, fucking over their own established lore and fan bases in the mindless pursuit of "Isn't this cool!!?" You may not want to be so...

    Skyrim Remastered

Not like that would hard to do - stealing candy from a baby would be much more difficult.

    What's the point??

But creating Rube Goldberg contraptions so you can post videos of them on YouTube is what role-playing is all about any more! Didn't you get the memo?

    What would you do?

It depends - am I suddenly dropped into the universe with my current skill set, or am I born and raised there? If it's the former, I'd try to hook up with some settlement - a civil engineer could probably find a lot to do with rebuilding, getting old infrastructure running again, etc. If I...

    What's the point??

My money's still on the paid subscription for everything model, or a system where you can pay an a la carte "service fee" per mod, but subscribe and you get "unlimited access" for a period of time (i.e. a microtransaction/mana system under a different name). We'll see by October, I suppose.

    What's the point??

It's just more evidence that the users, as far as Bethesda is concerned, are the console users who will pay $5 or $10 for these shit workshop packs which do little more than unlock assets already in the vanilla game files, and maybe throw in a couple of Radiant quest givers so they can brag...

    Skyrim Remastered

I don't know myself, but Gopher thinks it won't work, and I assume he knows what he's talking about when it comes to using script extenders in mods. There's a video of his posted on the previous page of this thread explaining his take. He also states that Fallout 4's script extender is nowhere...

Todd admits Fallout 4's Dialogue didn't work, you'll never guess what happened next

Leave it to Bethesda to take the most loathsome, detestable character in the entire game ... and set her as essential.

Some Fallout 4 Xbox mods are being stolen from the PC

Run all around the Commonwealth building fridges, then kidnap kids and stuff them inside them. Because if writers are allowed to have some fun (per Pete Hines), why can't players have some more lulz too? It even sets up the next Fallout game set 200 years from 4. Import your save and then you...
