    Best Mad Max Film?

    I stand corrected :)

    Fallout 4 – Vacationing in Nuka-World

I don't know about memory demands as I haven't ever checked, but as far as GPU/CPU usage it is reasonably well optimized. It certainly runs better than the reports of No Man's Sky, which TotalBiscuit couldn't even run and he has the best computer possible. Here's the thing about Elite vs NMS...

    Fallout 4 – Vacationing in Nuka-World

I'd personnally recommend Elite Dangerous over No Man's Sky. It does everything better and works well with just a controller (though you will have to bind a couple keys to the keyboard like landing gear). But if you end up going for NMS let us know what you think. There are 2 main areas Elite...

    Best Mad Max Film?

I think the guy in your avatar is the same actor who portrays Immortan Joe in Fury Road. EDIT: I stand corrected (see below posts).

    Fallout 4 – Vacationing in Nuka-World

I'd rather pay $60 for No Man's Sky than reinstall Fallout 4 and play this childish garbage. I'm still not convinced that adults did the writing for Fallout 4.

    Best Mad Max Film?

Fury Road was great and the people trying to make a big deal out of it having some kind of message or agenda are the definition of "overreaching."

No Man's Sky is a huge (marketing) success

LOL Steam had to post a refund notice to the No Man's Sky store page because it's receiving so many refund requests. This notice is posted next to all the awards the game has received, and below the misleading trailers and screenshots, making it even more hilarious.

No Man's Sky is a huge (marketing) success

Totally agree. I've seen too many comments excusing the developers saying "oh they just got caught up in the moment and wanted to make a good game" - no, they're on video lying several times, and the trailers/screenshots are more deceptive than Colonial Marines. They charged $60 for an Alpha...

Obduction and Witcher 3 GOTY Edition

So there's this new game called Obduction. I don't know if anyone here played or even remembers MYST but apparently this is a kickstarted game by the same people, and it's got very positive reviews. Anyone try this game out? If so, thoughts? Wondering if it is worth a look... Also, Witcher 3...

No Man's Sky is a huge (marketing) success

Just ignore it lol. That's what I've decided to do. Unless I'm mistaken, no one forced these people to sell a $20 Early Access Alpha for $60 AAA price. This is a business that sold a defective and/or falsely advertised product and they bear responsibility for that, the same as anyone else that...

No Man's Sky is a huge (marketing) success

Lol yea. The cycle will continue. Considering Fallout 4 still has the "RPG" tag on Steam store, I'd consider that just as much false advertising as some of the things missing from NMS. Oh...that's terrifying... I'd like to point out that in addition to the E3 trailers and misleading...

Does Anyone Really Care About VR?

I still haven't tried VR but there are 2 games that apparently look AMAZING with the Rift and Vive: 1) Elite Dangerous 2) Euro Truck Simulator 2 Elite Dangerous apparently has the best VR available according to many people, and I can believe that - it's a game that seems like it was made for...

    Cyberpunk 2077

It will be very amusing to see Cyberpunk 2077 make Fallout 4's attempt at deep, thoughtful writing about artificial intelligence look like a kids pop-up picture book, assuming that is a theme the game covers (it looks like it based on the trailer). I wouldn't normally make such a prediction...

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

Yea so far I have found non-combat character to be great. Feng is hilarious, and you can do many things later on in the game that would be very difficult or impossible with a pure combat build.

No Man's Sky is a huge (marketing) success

I'm pretty sure that in the gaming industry lying outright about the content of a game, false advertising, poor PC ports, unplayable bugginess, paid DLC plans, deceptive pricing, and deceptive pre-rendered E3 trailers and pretty concept art doesn't ruin your career - it makes you the lead game...

No Man's Sky is a huge (marketing) success

Why not? They're the ones that made the game, went on national TV hyping the game, said there would be a whole list of features that never showed up in the game. Jim Sterling has delved into this issue, and while I will never personally agree with his ridiculous 9.5/10 rating of Fallout 4, he's...

What kind of architecture do you think fits in Fallout.

Personally I love Bethesda's art direction with Fallout. It's one of the few things I can say that I thoroughly enjoy from their direction with the series. However, earlier Fallouts and even New Vegas managed to convey a much darker, more serious tone and setting that I do think is missing from...

No Man's Sky is a huge (marketing) success

Love Faster Than Light! It's affordably priced and has gameplay that is reasonably complex while being very accessible to anyone. Within 20 minutes anyone, even those who never play videogames, will be having great fun with it. It really hits the sweetspot between interesting gameplay and...

No Man's Sky is a huge (marketing) success

I honestly don't know what's more stupid: the fact that the game has a 44% rating on Steam and a 2.9 rating on Metacritic, or the fact that enough people bought this overhyped AAA marketing garbage for $60 to have nearly 58,000 Steam reviews currently. Coincidentally, I'm announcing my new...

No Man's Sky is a huge (marketing) success

Just thought I'd point this out. This is from the review I linked to in the previous post: "No game, film, book or otherwise has been more effective in capturing what the experience of exploring the universe must be." - this guy must not play games, watch films, or read books. Like at all. This...
