Warhammer 40.000 - Dawn of War II: Retribution [WAAAGH!]

I'd say DoW II added a lot of RPG elements and tactical gameplay, at the expense of some strategic play. It's slightly different from the more RTS-pure DoW I, but I don't see it as a bad thing. Had fun with both and its expansions. The death animations were great and pretty funny by their...

    Detroit, post-apocalypse

Sadly, that shit of a movie destroys entirely the concept which made the novel interesting. The "I am legend" title doesn't refer to a doctor of legendary skills. [spoiler:4198c50dcf] Throughout the novel, Neville is revealed to be the last human left on Earth. He methodically destroys the...

    BioShock Infinite

I don't get what you guys are whining about, other than the horrible name. I've never seen a game set in a Steampunk / American Early 20th Obnoxious Parvenu setting. It's original, it could be interesting.

    Hello, old friend

Look, there's very few games with the technical abilities to render a character's face with as much detail as the set of 'talking heads' from F1/F2. They're almost cinematics. And Beth's GECK... well... it's a bit dated. So don't whine that an in-game fully 3D character has less detail than...

Yes, a lot of the posters are very much commie posters-inspired. A lot of the in-game architecture as well.

Nuclear War. Or who saved the world

Um, no. The cuban missile crisis wasn't started by the Soviet Union "supplying nuclear weapons to Cuba". It was the latter that allowed the SU to *deploy* missiles on its territory, close to the US.

what was before the 50s ?

A lot of things "might" be possible. Having them being imagined, developed and used on a widespread basis are entirely different things ... Plasma TV tech was around in the 70's. So was the concept of a digital music player. In the same way, that seed-shaped mail package might be technically...

what was before the 50s ?

I wrote my MA thesis on American visions of the future from the 30's to the end of the 50's. A lot of sci-fi ideas from that time were developed and incorporated into 'real life' solutions, from AWACS and Combat Information Centers to geostationary satellites.
