CS:S. Waiting for a new video board for GMOD, which I have but it crashes bad like a... thing that crashes bad... because my video board has two options for drivers: 1) Old. 2) Unstable like fuck.

    Medal of Honor: Airborne is...

I'm pretty sure the early model Thompsons with the front grips went everywhere, just in limited numbers because they were more costly to produce. The "mil spec" version is more common because they cut a number of costly, unneccesary production aspects. They also dropped support for the 50 and...

    SuperHeros and SuperVillians

Never could stand Superman; he was just too over-the-top. What fun is it when no attacks harm him? I always liked Marvel's stuff better; most of their people with "Invulnerability" are just strongly resistant to attacks; massive trauma is still going to do something -it may be much less than...

    Time for a NEW TV

I actually have an HD CRT from Samsung -they are the best makers of HD CRTs and it gives an excellent, excellent picture. Stay away from LG, everything I've ever touched that they made has fallen to pieces -I see no need to get involved with a firm whose cell phones cannot take a single drop...

Radiation or getting tabbed - which is the worst anyway?

No. But a laptop that can run chatting programs couldn't be too expensive. It just has to be some form of Pentium. It is nice because you can chat from bed, the toilet, etc.

Radiation or getting tabbed - which is the worst anyway?

I rarely use chatting programs but for some reason if I am awaiting an important message (well, about as important as chatting program messages get) I will leave my laptop open next to my regular computer so I can play games undisturbed. This is the best solution.

What's your favorite crpg NPC character?

I liked Viconia in BG2 because she was interesting -not your stereotypical Drizzit clone and still rather evil, yet she worked in the party and I never had a group without her since not only is she a good character she's a great priest -the best in the game, in fact, and who played priests in...

    Tinnitus

I have it too to some degree, I think it was worse when I was a child, I remember noticing it profoundly if I were to sit in my mother's Chrysler (the first realy good car she owned -with very strong door seals) with the ignition off. I've had other oddments manifest themselves as well...

Pregnancy, Condoms, & Stds (for a female char)

The only use of the condom is to prevent the pregnancy of either of the Bishop women. Read Per's excellent guide for the details of how the pregnancies can effect your endings and keep some rubbers in your inventory if it suits the ending you want.

Can any russian speaker translate this, please?

Welcome to the world of propaganda! The fact that even people like me who hate communism think it's marvelous imagery is testament to the fact that it worked. I'd have to say that a WWII medal is a safe bet for avoiding controversy over Soviet imagery.

What are the names of those tape reels?

Those are properly called 9-track tape drives because there are 8 data tracks and a control track. They hold a lot on one tape (many gigabytes in their more modern versions) and have been used for ages. They are still used for legacy support and archival. The tape is usually 1/2" wide like...

    Athabaska

Athabasca was also the title of a 1982 novel by Alistair Maclean. Why do I know this? There used to be an excellent used book store near me, and I saw it on the cheapy shelf for something like $0.25, and thought "Hey, isn't that the name of the dude in Fallout 2?"

SiCKO - See it today - Bring tissues and your passport?

Exactly. A buddy of mine had a brain tumor removed a couple years ago (shit... it's been that long, hasn't it...) and he told me that he did the figures and that he could pay for insurance privately for the rest of his life and he'd still make money off that one thing, if he needed no more...

    Mini Nuke in FO3

The laser guns in Fallout are not entirely impossible, just the animation is unrealistic. But the "bolt" of laser light is pretty standard for sci-fi. A few notable uses of lasers in fiction depict them more-or-less properly; surprisingly an episode of "The Avengers" had a laser that made no...

    The Alien movies.

I think honestly if you like Alien or Aliens better simply depends on weather you prefer Horror to Action movies. Alien had more Horror elements, with a dash of action. Aliens had Action elements, with a strong dash of Horror. Both are excellent.

SiCKO - See it today - Bring tissues and your passport?

Well that IS a doom scenario, but you have to consider doom scenarios to learn how to prevent them. I'll admit we harp on them a lot in this country, and Michael Moore is guilty of it more than most. He makes millions from his propaganda that is based on doom scenarios. What he does it not...

What kind of weapons do you want to see in F3?

Arguably, a Gauss weapon is a railgun. The difference is academic (coils versus linear magnets) and probably of little difference in terms of effectiveness as a weapon to the end user. It could be interesting from a story point of view if some competitor to the Gauss Rifle was also featured...

    Hopeful features in GTA IV

Vice City for PC was the ultimate refinement of the interface IMHO. San An was a step backwards with its camera. PC has it all over console with the ability to aim the minigun like you're watering your rose bushes. That thing eats up cars, helicopters, people, whatever you have that you don't...

    The Alien movies.

I Liked Zardoz; that movie was trippy! The Alien movies are all good; Alien is classic horror; you don't see the Alien for a long time and this makes it more scary than it actually is (which is saying a lot for something H.R. Geiger designed!). The whole film is just "tight". It works...
