Skills in Fallout 4: What We Know

@Walpknut. Piss off. His suggestion is interesting. While you just repeating the same suspicion you (and pretty much everyone else, including me) said a hundred times, only in different context. I'd rather discuss pure mechanics, then listen to you getting mental erections from pointing out...

Fallout 4 coming out on November 10, free mobile spin-off out now

Actually outside of USA, parts of Europe and few other place, the consoles are almost non existent. Here everyone has PCs\laptops(few Ipads)... while few import consoles, there is no quality service here nor second hand market for their games. But yes, the publishers know exactly where the...

Skills in Fallout 4: What We Know

He suggested away in which perks can be an improvement over the current system. If you aren't interested in discussing that mechanic, only spewing silly slogans, moving goal posts and acting like a drama queen - then count me out.

Skills in Fallout 4: What We Know

Actually, cRPG audience is extremely tiny, that why only classics with cult following managed to lift off. Also you obviously haven't been following the development of the games you mentioned, thus unaware of the many updates to formula that has been done (e.g. go to rpgcodex, and you'll find...

Fallout 4 coming out on November 10, free mobile spin-off out now

Btw, there are many casual gamers on the PC. in fact, now days, I am mostly a casual gamer... life tend to drag most of us down that path.. Also I don't know the stats, but I do know quite a few people from the USA, who has a console and aren't young, using the console an an entertainment...

Skills in Fallout 4: What We Know

If I understand correctly, that would be a significant improvement over the current skills system. Step one: replace the percentage system 1-100% with point system 1-5. For example see Wasteland 2: Step two: use less regimented system, allowing perks that effect multiple weapon types. e.g...

    Bethesda's Fallout 4: Continuity Breaker

Even better. Going back to the topic, not only people here are primed to dislike anything Beth related failing to see any redeeming value and nitpicking needlessly, followed by dramatic statements. Apparently they don't even bother to check the facts.

Fallout 4 coming out on November 10, free mobile spin-off out now

Are you sure, as far as I know, pretty much everyone develop for one platform and sub contract the ports to a third party. (Also Bethesda is using a cross platform engine, so if they wanted they could even get a linux port )

Fallout 4 coming out on November 10, free mobile spin-off out now

That worked well in the abstraction of top down games. But when you actually control you aim, missing a point blank shot to a center mass of a big ass mutant is stupefying. Personally, I am pretty sure that many combat perks will involve new animations\moves. So that anyone can point the...

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

I played both, they did a great job bringing the game uptodate technically, added few fixes, but overall little new content compared to the quantity\verity\quality of mods available for the originals. I recommend that you stop by shsforums and check if there is version of BWP (Big world...

Think a voiced protagonist is a bad idea? Here's Bethesda's reasoning!

Sorry to break it to you, but your effort is meaningless.. You are misguided if you think that you have impressed any teenage FO3 fanoys on reddit\youtube or assume that any of them actually watched the video until the end. As for the presentation, it is very impressive, but its premises is...

Think a voiced protagonist is a bad idea? Here's Bethesda's reasoning!

In short: Bethesda: We know the stats/demographic and how to appeal to them. NMA: We want more depth and nuance, and VA is a standard part of aRPG packaged deal that never stops to disappoint cRPG fans. Indeed, Obsidian played to their strength (character and story) which can be seen...

Think a voiced protagonist is a bad idea? Here's Bethesda's reasoning!

I don't understand, why do you think that this mechanic will be bad? is it because other games has it or because it is bad? or maybe you just annoyed at Beth writing in general?

    Chris Avellone leaves Obsidian

No, stating a fact that might, or might not, be of interest. Personally, I was surprised by Obsidian not so great situation when first heard it. Popularity? They were riding the initial kickstarter hype, and Fargo played his crowd just right, saying all the things they wanted to hear i.e. rant...

The character has been colloquially referred to as Sole_Survivor so I doubt that.

    Bethesda's Fallout 4: Continuity Breaker

I think that the OP point about no "Warning of nuclear attack" exemplifies the point SMBComic is making. It refers to the prior warning seen in Fallout 4 trailer, which conflict with POTUS comment in Fallout 2, that states that the 'Chinese launched first and there was no warning on the East...

    Bethesda's Fallout 4: Continuity Breaker

Generally speaking I agree, when FO3 first came with its realtime, FPP, open-world (and many of Oblivion design issues) such discussions had a lot of traction. However, the examples here... lets just say that no one will mention the specific date of Vertibirds introduction as being what is...
