Ken St Andre joins Wasteland 2 team

Holy shitballs this is amazing. I'm going to enter a deep depression if this team can't get the funds they need.

InXile Kickstarter Project officially named Wasteland 2

I don't have a lot of money, but I plan on giving until it hurts for this. I'd really love to see this happen.

Bethesda hiring for unannounced game on next-gen consoles

I'll bet former members of the Duke Nukem Forever team really hate seeing that kind of thing. ;)

The Origins of Fallout, Part 3

Really really fun to read about this! Well done, NMA! Oh what I wouldn't give to have been able to be a part of that.

Rude awakening: Why Fallout: New Vegas felt incomplete

This must be nitpicked... Wouldn't the Platinum Chip be the Mcguffin in New Vegas? It certainly wouldn't be Ulysses or Benny.

Rude awakening: Why Fallout: New Vegas felt incomplete

Health regeneration is probably the laziest game development fad that has caught on pretty steadily since Halo. Who needs to worry about pacing, item placement, or any situations which might stress the player, when you can just stop and refill at any moment.

Rude awakening: Why Fallout: New Vegas felt incomplete

That part about being pointed down the road kinda bugs me. It bugs me because this was the same formula used in a game called Fallout, and Fallout 2. In both of those games you are told where to go at first, while giving you the option to stray from your path, and in to areas with deadly...

Mark Morgan working on the Prey 2 OST

Snuffy Walden was the composer for the music in the Stand. Morgan said he was working for Walden at the time. Morgan is also not a guitar player, while that is what Walden is known for... Morgan isn't even credited in The Stand. It's not the same as using Beethoven (which is public...

Mark Morgan working on the Prey 2 OST

He's really lucky to be working in music at all at this point, and I'm sure the people he works with probably aren't aware of his plagiarism. Let's also not forget the guitar riffs he stole from The Stand soundtrack, used in the Fallout 2 map screen. He worked with the man who composed the...

Mark Morgan working on the Prey 2 OST

I'm not going to discuss or debate anything. It's plagiarism, plain and simple. I know we live in times where that doesn't matter to most people, but it some circles it still does.

Mark Morgan working on the Prey 2 OST

Let's hope the man can stay away from Aphex Twin during the production. I was shocked to hear such blatant plagiarism in the Fallout 2 soundtrack, a soundtrack I had loved for years. He can use whatever excuse he wishes, but that was outright plagiarism, and in music, that is a no-no for...

"Titus had no interest in what we were doing"

Still doesn't sound like an X-Com game to me. How about his radical idea: Make an X-Com style X-Com game!

Lonesome Road coming September 20th + weapon pack DLCs

Those gun packs should really be free as a way of saying "thanks" to paying customers. Of course this isn't the 90's (or even the 00's) so of course giving away free content is out of the question. Never forget that we have Bethesda to "thank" for the term known as DLC, and the concept...

    Chris Avellone interview

I think that is a fair assessment of Fallout 3. I did enjoy the exploration aspects of it on that first play through. Once you've done that once, though, there wasn't much to inspire a replay. The main quest was just atrocious. I still can't quite believe that they actually won awards...

J.E. Sawyer's five hard lessons on RPG design

I think on my very first play session of Fallout I made an energy weapons character. I was a bit turned off by the fact that there were no weapons for me to use, so I re-rolled as a small guns character.

    Bethesda's preliminary injuction denied, again

Their legal team really seems to be a bunch of assholes. They just threatened Mojang (maker of Minecraft) with a lawsuit, because Mojang is working on a game called Scrolls, and Bethesda is saying that "The Elder Scrolls" is trademarked and so they own the word "Scrolls"....

    Get a Pip-Boy in Team Fortress 2

I just hope I don't have to go to Quake Con, or buy Bethesda's catalog to get this. I love TF2, engy is my favorite class, and I'd really like a PipBoy!

Fallout: New Vegas Old World Blues Reviews Round-up #4

I also hope they let Obsidian keep on working on Fallout. Obsidian "gets it" better than Bethesda ever will. New Vegas may not be perfect, but I think it's as good as we're going to get, considering who owns the license. Do the right thing, Bethesda.

    GameBanshee reviews Old World Blues

I've had a lot of fun with it so far, and I actually find it to be the most fun of all the DLCs I've played. Sure it is absurd and over-the-top, but I'd be lying to myself if I tried to say those elements weren't there in some form in even Fallout.

Bethesda: IPLY intends to undermine F3's plotline

I thought Bethesda did a good job of undermining Fallout 3's plot all by themselves.
