Bethesda's Fallout vs Black Isle Studio's Fallout

They have a wonderful way of dancing around any meaningful statements, or otherwise generalizing 'Fallout 1 and 2 had side-quests where you made choices...so does 3'. When the quality of the quests themselves, from the dialogue to the setup to the consequences of each choice...is totally...

Nope, made it my new sig about 45 minutes ago.

Hah, and Trinnie (a woman living in Rivet City) looks like they pasted one of the faces of a child from the Vault onto an adult, then let her draw on her own eyebrows after they burnt off. Man, this game has something hilarious about it every minute and a half.

*Snort* Here's some A.I: He's ran up to a guy terrified of him (running around, spazzing out and shouting), had a normal conversational tree with him (man calmed down and spoke normally)...and then finished the conversation and watched the guy scream "HALP" and run off down the corridor...

No goofier than watching him walk up to a guy, hit him four times in the face (VATS) with a laser pistol, and finding out you only knocked him unconscious. Really. I hate that system.

Boy, 'No one enters and no one leaves' takes another hit. Hello, Dr. Li.

    Fallout 3 pirated, videos spread

Are these NPC's bi-polar or something? One minute they're confrontational as hell, the next they just roll over and let you have your way. Harkness confronts you at the entrance to Rivet City, threatens you with a 'trip to the river' several times, calls bullshit on your dad having lived...

    Fallout 3 pirated, videos spread

Yeah, I found it within about a minute of looking in five different places. Heck, someone earlier in the thread quoted a guy in the comment section of one of those torrents. Asking if this was a shooter or an rpg. The fact he even had to ask is sad.

Ah, well enemy A.I. is just spiffy. Watching one of these feeds, a guy is wandering around underground, and comes upon a fire ant. He proceeds to shoot at it with V.A.T.S. (incidentally, body still has a rating of 59%, while the head is 85$, and a small back leg is 95%, figure that one out)...

You'd think "what the hell were those", "oh thank you for saving me", and "Butch, why didn't you help me" would have been the first things out of her mouth.

She kinda reminded me of Bobby's mom, from the Bobby's World cartoon I used to watch as a kid. The way she spoke, accent-wise. Though I imagine that voice changes when she's Ghoulied. Am I the only one who kept thinking she had a faint mustache on her upper lip every time I glanced...

Ah, I thought so. Thanks. Does anyone know if there are other side-effects of the detonation of Megaton? It has to have more results in the world than just a new crater and a ghoul. Does anything else change?

The woman who was writing that guide, got herself turned into a Ghoul, and stayed (I think her name was mentioned to be Moira or something in previews): Well, it could be she's one of the nutso scientific types, who instead of focusing on the personal part of 'oh my god, I've just been...

    Fallout 3 TGS Trailer

Considering folks are now a mere click away from Youtube or a billion other places where they can watch new footage with locations and situations never seen before... Bethesda's going to have to stop being shy about letting the occasional bit of new info out. They need to show a few new...

Swedish PC Gamer reviews Fallout 3

If there were cause and effect to show for it, I wouldn't mind some of the places being close to each other. You spot a Raider Camp, but sneak past because you're overloaded, low on health and ammo, or just don't want to deal with it. Come back a few days later, and maybe the camp got...

IGN Fallout 3: Six Hours of Exploration

Hopefully it'll be balanced out by ammo being really expensive. A previous guy who got to play for six hours mentioned that even after all he'd done, he was only able to afford to buy one shell. Edit: Though come to think of it, by your 20th hour you'll have enough money to toss away...

Fallout 3: Bad to the Bone

My lord, it's like they reversed the old morality game stereotype; that it's easier to be good than bad. Here, it seems like they've programmed it to be a chore to be an evil little bastard and be known that way in the world. You're given every chance to repent, folks will forget your...

    360 Gamer Hands-On Preview

Didn't they supposedly study FPS games so that it would feel right? Wow, another part of the product that comes out sub-standard, even when they have references.

    360 Gamer Hands-On Preview

Considering how they were all 'going their own way, and doing their own thing', how is it that they *all* ended up just doing things we've heard about so far? One hit the school, another went to Megaton, another found that boy who needs help, etc etc. What are the chances none of them...
