Ah, Brad Dourif in Dune. Always did like good ol' Brad, still do. 9/10

    What was your first RPG?

KotOR 1 back around 2004. It's hard to give a better estimate, but it couldn't have been too long before KotOR 2 came out. This was during my Star Wars phase when I was really into the movies so when I saw it at the video store, I decided to rent it. I was like 12 at the time so I do remember...

Kotaku profiles No Mutants Allowed and hating Fallout 3

I'm not sure if I'd completely agree that NMA is a bitter place -- at least at this point. Back in the F3 days probably for sure, but I only started lurking a while after New Vegas was announced. But it is all too easy to read matter-of-fact tones, or just posts in general as being more negative...

Bethesda E3 Showcase Tonight, Stream Links

That's initially what made me suspect they were turned into perks. Add that the Intelligence description doesn't mention them as they're what affects skills earned in each level, lack of a Skills tab in the pip-boy and there was no 3 skills tagged in the character creation, it all seemed to...

Bethesda E3 Showcase Tonight, Stream Links

Yeah, it's pretty bad, but I'm convinced that's the case. With this, and the dialogue wheel, I'm thinking of not even renting/borrowing the game.

Bethesda E3 Showcase Tonight, Stream Links

If you look at the weapons crafting portion of the demo, you'll notice that some of those have requirements for Science and Gun Nut. I think they're still here, but just as perks instead of skills.

Fallout 4 announced with official trailer

Yeah, that's why I'm okay with some of the visual departure. As long as they're on the east coast, I feel there can at least be some room for that type of freedom.

Fallout 4 announced with official trailer

It at least looks more visually interesting than Fallout 3. Other than that, meh, it's Bethesda. The way the "war never changes" line was shoehorned in was terrible.

What is your favorite TV show?

Dunno, I think the pacing drags on the 2nd half. If he's not that into it now, I probably wouldn't bother finishing it.

    General Discussion Thread of DOOM

Alan Moore high on his own fumes? Hohoho, no way.

The Ultimate Movie Thread of Ultimate Destiny

That's kind of what makes me feel go "meh" about it. I do agree that I find this to be better than the first Avengers. The character focus was nice and ended up being something meaningful for the character(s) rather than fluff like in the first movie.

What is your favorite TV show?

If Better Call Saul ends well, it could very well be better than Breaking Bad -- it might already be. I'm leaning towards preferring it at this rate anyway. Surprising considering I remember reading a lot of skepticism over the show when it was first announced. At least now I'll have something...

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

Going through Mirror's Edge and Prototype 2. Hadn't played Mirror's Edge since I first beat it so this time around I'm going through it on Hard. Prototype 2 I'm just playing because it was on PS+. Not a fan of most sandbox games, but moving around is enjoyable; especially once you gain a few...

    Censorship? There is no censorship!

The quote I responded to was pointed towards Hassknecht, but I used it to point out GG's lack of focus on what they're supposed to be about. Besides, supporting women has little to do with being critical of feminists -- which that was the point. GamerGate focuses too much on criticizing...

    Censorship? There is no censorship!

Umm... and what does have to do with ethics in game journalism? See what I mean? Applying feminist critiques to video games, and not highlighting current female developers isn't corruption so I have no idea why supporting women in gaming matters in this context; even though yes, it is good to...

    Censorship? There is no censorship!

Sure, I'll admit taking on big publishers is difficult. That doesn't mean you shouldn't try, and with as many people who support GamerGate, surely people could bump heads to try coming up with something that isn't boycotting. But come on, how exactly has GG supposedly fought corruption? They try...

    Censorship? There is no censorship!

Yep. That's been one of the biggest problems with GamerGate's "ethics in gaming journalism" so far. Big companies get away with shit way too easily, and it's been apparent for years, but what sets this off? Was it another Gerstmann incident where a reviewer got fired for a negative review, or a...

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

Currently going through The Evil Within for the 3rd time after small break of playing. Not because I got tired of the game, mostly because I've just been busy. Really hoping for a patch that fixes some of the performance issues sometime soon, and maybe giving the player some i-frames when...

    No Fallout 4 at GamesCom

muthafucking pete 'shut yo face' hines I'm sure it can be annoying and aggravating to keep being asked about when Fallout 4 is going to be revealed, tho.
