My Own Theory About Why F4 Is The Way It Is

I was thinking the same thing, the game seem so unpolished and rushed that I wouldn't be surprised if they had to abandon the whole build and start again halfway through the development cycle, even if it wasn't necessarily because it didn't work on next gen consoles.

A Thought About Some of the Radio Music

It's literally just a big fetch quest where you have to find like 9 holotapes from all across the map. It's basically like that one radio quest in NV, except the pay off dialogue with Nick isn't nearly as good as Hanlon's (spoilers: basically he just says that finding Eddie Winter was the only...

    Wasted Potential

Exactly, there is a certain discussion there on whether it is better to build off what others have done in the past, and risk making their mistakes, or to pave a new path. You can see this in Veronica's quest (stay with the BoS and try to reform them or go her own way) and Raul's quest (become...

A Thought About Some of the Radio Music

So EMPs destroyed holotapes with music, but not any of the other holotapes made pre-war. That's a very selective EMP blast.

A Thought About Some of the Radio Music

To be fair that one chick at the bar in goodneighbor's songs play on the radio in FO4, and apparently the folk songs in NV (Streets of New Reno, New Vegas Valley, Home on the Wastes) were supposed to be played on the radio

A Thought About Some of the Radio Music

That's exactly what I was thinking, even modern tribal people living deep in the Amazon or the African savanna that still live directly off the land with little or no agriculture create music.

A Thought About Some of the Radio Music

They should have gotten whoever wrote those awesome alt history German 60's songs from Wolfenstein: The New Order to write some songs for the game.

    Wasted Potential

To be fair, just because the name sounds nice doesn't mean that much, I mean China's official name is the People's Republic of China, doesn't that sound nice there's definitely no human rights violation going on there. There are also people that take their idea of social justice way too far, but...

    Wasted Potential

Except you forgot the part where the Great War 2.0 was initiated by an insane sociopath who honestly believed that nuking the NCR was a legitimate solution to solving the NCR's problems

    Wasted Potential

    A. Confirmation bias, Hanlon believes the NCR's mission in the Mojave is inherently flawed and just not worth it, so one can argue that he only takes into account the evidence that suits his point of view B.The point of the mission with Hildern was that the NCR was thinking ahead, they were...

"We want to answer 'yes' every time the player asks a question (...) " - Todd Howard

You have to set plugins.txt in your appdata folder to read only, if you didn't already know. That or you can use the FO4SE launcher. Still I don't understand why Bethesda decided to remove support for mods, what exactly do they get by having the launcher disable mods? I don't know maybe Todd...

Destiny influenced this game? that explains a lot actually.

    Bethesda's Lore Recons

Near the end they were starting to run out of uranium, and petroleum was probably still used in some industrial applications. It's also possible China just had less advanced nuclear tech than the US.

    Bethesda's Lore Recons

It seems likely the BoS knew about Liberty Prime, considering it's existence widely known and publicized before the war. Though of course, for all they knew some wastelanders could have cannibalized liberty prime for scrap.

    Bethesda's Lore Recons

Is there any reason the BoS couldn't get help from natives or they couldn't hunt for game to supplement their food supply. Also, major features like mountains, hills, and rivers aren't going to change after the apocalypse or 200 years of time, even if many of the roads are no longer passable, so...

    Bethesda's Lore Recons

Out of 31 people on the Lewis and Clark expedition only one died (i.e. 3%). The expedition had almost no idea what they were going to find, had no maps, and were armed with muzzle-loading single shot muskets. Even accounting for deathclaws and other dangers, it's not at all out of the realm of...

    Bethesda's Lore Recons

People traveled across the country before there were any roads at all, it's really not impossible for the BoS to have marched across the US. Lewis and Clark traveled across most of the US in about a year and a half, and they had muzzle-loading muskets and almost zero idea what they were going to...

So, can we talk about what Fallout 4 does well?

I mean it's kind of crappy that you have to do it in the first place, but you can just go into the console and click on the bodies and type "disable" then "markfordelete"

Everyone ready for the Fallout 4 awards?

I don't know, I would put my money The Witcher before I would FO4. I wouldn't say FO4 was panned, but it did get a lukewarm reception from critics, especially compared to the near universal praise of Skyrim
