Wasteland 2 Kickstarter Update #10, First concept art

I need to mull it over a bit more. It's just a piece of concept art, and the earliest one at that, so I wouldn't get too worked up over it in either way. As a piece of art, its very nice. As what I see for "Wasteland", I'm not so sure. Ultimately, I was hoping to see more of an 80's Pen &...

(Don't) Give me that old time RPG combat

They aren't worrying about "driving people away". If you want RT option, you are going to be dissapointed

Obsidian to Co-Develop Wasteland 2 if $2.1M is hit

Which again takes me back to my original points. You should read them. This isn't something to get me excited about. While everyone here was jumping down my throat, like Oblivion fans were jumping down Fallout fans for on the Bethesda boards, nobody bothered to even note that I didn't say...

Obsidian to Co-Develop Wasteland 2 if $2.1M is hit

Read/Respond to my whole post, or don't bother. I said I didn't want a game that resembles an Obsidian game. Do you?

Obsidian to Co-Develop Wasteland 2 if $2.1M is hit

That's totally irrelevant and true for 99% of developers out there. And on top of that, I've said the very same thing in 2 of my 3 previous posts. Are you not bothering to read?

Obsidian to Co-Develop Wasteland 2 if $2.1M is hit

It only doesn't make sense to you, because you are looking at it from the perspective of a Fallout fan, not Wasteland. Imagine this scenario. It’s 2022 and the Fallout series has long since transferred owners and been neglected multiple times. Some company now creates a game that they are...

Obsidian to Co-Develop Wasteland 2 if $2.1M is hit

Apparently you didn't actually read my post where I said "don't doubt that a lot of the reason for Obsidian's games playing the way they do has come from publisher desires." That doesn't change the fact that Obsidian hasn't produced anything resembling a game that would be satisfactory...

Obsidian to Co-Develop Wasteland 2 if $2.1M is hit

I'll be honest, I'm not overly excited about this. I like Obsidian just fine, and while they do a better job than most of their contemporaries at producing RPGs that I like, I think there is some very valid concern in bringing them aboard. This has little to do with their perceived bugginess...

    Wasteland Kickstarter Update #4

Consoles also have pretty strict requirements that have to be met for avgame to even be allowed to be on there in the first place and MS/Sony aren't allowing games to get through that require mouse/keyboard/monitor.

    W2 graphics

This has nothing to do with those actual engines. They aren't going to use those specific engines. The point is simply to expect something, graphically, along that level.

    Wasteland Kickstarter Update #4

Why is this argument even happening? People will truly bitch about anything. Here is the extent of involvement Brian Fargo needs to have with the Kick it Forward thing: 1. Donate 5% of Wasteland 2's profits to Kickstarter projects (sometime in 2014) 2. Tell graphic designer to make a...

    W2 graphics

I think we aren't going to get something that looks "outstanding" by today's standards. This is a game they are playing to complete with 16 months of dev time, 6 months of which won't even be coding. This is a game that will likely be easily playable on your average laptop. Perhaps I'm wrong...

Brian Fargo talks to Digital Trends, Kickstarter editorials

Another one that says a little something about what's in the design briefs.

    W2 graphics

Something along the lines of Van Buren, or the Troika PA test engine is probably what we should expect graphically.

    Wasteland 2 Kickstarter has launched

I could see it slowing down to about 20,000 a day. That would put it at about 1.5. However, there will probably be a few other spike periods, as it gets publicity that strikes a chord somewhere + the final day. I could see an extra 200-500k raised through spike days. 2 million is doable.

Wasteland designer Liz Danforth joins Wasteland 2 team

Glad to have another veteran in the mix. I personally like her art. Though I can understand why some don't. It very much has the look and feel of the fantasy art that was done in the 70's and 80's for pen & paper (and c) RPGs...which of course it is.

672K... Slowed down a lot overnight, but moving at a decent pace now for the second day. Pretty hard to see any way we don't hit the 900K mark.
