Developers' Choice RPG of the Decade

I guess we won't be hearing any Tim Cain criticism of Fallout 3...

Who wants to be a child killer?

I seriously doubt that Bethesda is responsible for making him take it down. As he said himself, its an image that would obviously be seen as offensive to many people. He likely was asked to remove it by DeviantArt, or simply thought better of it having it on there himself, once it got hosted...

PC Gamer gets Fallout: New Vegas world exclusive!

Give it a rest, redcoats, you lost your status when you lost the revolutionary war.

    Dwarf Fortress

Wow! Thanks for bringing it to my attention. tried it out today, clueless. Going to try some tutorials tommorow.

Besides video games, what other games do you play?

Well, he's right about one thing. If you believe you are good at gambling, you shouldn't do it and are likely to get an addiction to it.

    Trend towards linearity (CYOA->RPG)

Absolutely. No question about it. Car "elitists" are perfectly willing to pay 100 grand for a premium vehicle, Joe Average can pay 10-20 grand for his. As a gaming elitist (as most of us here are), are you willing to pay $250-$300 for a well crafted RPG? In fact, that is a topic that...

Vault Boy Now Delivering Pizza in Massachusetts Area

I'm sure somebody can dig up the posts on here that were detailing this from long before Fallout 3 was released. Its not my observation to make up. There were actually complaints here about the (minor) changes in VaultBoy when we first saw him in Bethesda's promotional materials. I don't...

Vault Boy Now Delivering Pizza in Massachusetts Area

Well, VaultBoy was drawn slightly differently for Fallout and Fallout 3, and the image used here clearly looks like the Fallout 3 VaultBoy. This looks like the proper usage of terms to me.

Vault Boy Now Delivering Pizza in Massachusetts Area

Why would it surprise you? They should sue them. Its not even just the issue of infringing on their video game character, that is somebody's artwork that they poached. Likely, the pizza place commissioned a graphic artist to design their images and instead of creating the artwork himself...

    Rumour: Wasteland 2?

Well, aside from the fact that Wasteland didn't play like a GoldBox game(It was actually kind of the opposite of the Gold Box style), that's very hypocritical.

    Rumour: Wasteland 2?

I could be mistaken, but when Fallout 3 was still early in development wasn't Fargo quoted as saying he had plans for inExile to do "Wasteland 2"?

    Rumour: Wasteland 2?

    1. Technically, Wasteland already had a sequel. Fountain of Dreams. 2. Do you think that people over the age of 30 do not play games, or something? 3. Personally, yes, I would have preferred another Wasteland game instead of Fallout.

    Spiderweb games.

Well, I finished Avernum 5 a few months ago and then tried Nethergate. I like the setting and a lot of things about that one, but the interface is outdated, in comparison to the newer titles, and I found it a bit too cumbersome for me to be nearly as enjoyable as Avernum 5. So, after playing the...

    Grupo 97 interviews J.E. Sawyer

I'm pretty sure that is what he is alluding to. The odd thing is that its not a new concept. Its actually another one of those things that many games USED to do, that has kind of fallen by the wayside. I don't think many, if any, RPGs did it, but games in other genres did this years ago, quite...

    Great Storyline Games

To be honest I wouldn't consider most of the games people have listed here among the best stories. Better story-game combos, perhaps...great writing, well told...all of these things. But, if I had to pick the best story, it would probably be for a game that was much more linear, and...

    Edge of Twilight

Its a waste to put atmosphere such as that, on that type of game. Honestly, its not worth the developer's time to flesh out a world like that, for a game of that nature.

    Spiderweb games.

Yeah, after I finish this one, I'll be going back to play the entire collection of games. Nethergate sounds interesting too. I think I just had too many bad, and underwhelming, experiences with Indie games in the past, that I was wary of giving these ones a shot and being disappointed. But...

    Spiderweb games.

Finally got around to trying one out. Got Avernum 5 this week. You guys were right. Its excellent. I haven't seen an Indie RPG developed game with a quarter of the quality of this one before.

What game(s) have you bought recently?

I suppose it kind of depends on what your definition of "recently" is. I haven't bought anything since Fallout in November.

The one game you've played the most...ever

That might be what happened to me. It was soo long ago that I really don't remember. But I do seem to remember doing the pit climb in my last playthrough, just a few years ago. That time I was not shy with using a walkthrough when I felt like it, though. It might not be an actual coding bug, but...
