Fallout 2 mod Unofficial Fo2 patch thread - problems, reports, suggestions

Getting that last quest can be a pain. It does depend on how much he likes you, and saying one wrong thing anywhere along the way (like asking for a laser weapon too early) means you won't get the last of his jobs. I tend to assassinate him after the second job and call it good. Speaking of...

    Good or Evil?

I guess there are things that don't qualify as "evil" per se, but I've done them anyway. Drinking every beer and booze I can find (I tend to suffer a lot of perception losses), gambling, sleeping with prostitutes, etc. I played a "stupid" game once by getting addicted to Psycho and staying...

    The Order of Patches

I admit I know from experience that it can be overwhelming to see a list of a dozen different files/utilites/patches that all say they do essentially the same things. Sadly the file rating is very rarely used, otherwise these questions might pop up a lot less.

    FO2: Ironman Build

'Ironman' is a term used when you play a game without reloading if you screw up. i.e. You die, you start a new game. Personally, I think Per's suggestion of hitting yourself over the head with a hammer whenever you die would be less frustrating, but that's just me.

    Good or Evil?

I almost always wind up being good, although I like to take a bad attitude approach whenever I can (think Snake Plissken). I've often wished there were more opportunities to threaten someone without turning the entire town hostile or locking out parts of the game. :) I mean, hell, so I...

Door in the back entrance of raiders camp [FO2]

Hmm, that's messed up alright. I've never tried opening a door with a shotgun, so I'm not sure how that works. Sorry 'bout that. You might try exiting to the worldmap then immediately entering again and see if you get the option to use the other entrance. Oh, and if it works, your car will...

[FO2] Q-s: Burst specifics, .44 JHP vs FMJ and more

Some things are hardcoded in the exe which are difficult/impossible to decipher with 100% certainty.

    Fallout: A Post-Nuclear War role-playing game bugs

Looking damn forward to that one, lemme tellya. :) And yes, it's a missing storyline. What I was trying to get across was that in a patch rather than a mod, it may be appropriate to get rid of the remnants of it so it doesn't get assigned with no way to complete it. Yeah, I can...

Fallout 2 mod Unofficial Fo2 patch thread - problems, reports, suggestions

I believe the dealers in New Reno use loaded dice, so your chances of winning are pretty doggone slim. There is a push/match result that just gives you your money back which is the best result I've ever gotten from them. But then I have yet to play someone with much of a gambling skill...

    Fallout: A Post-Nuclear War role-playing game bugs

This might be impossible (or clunky), but perhaps having MacRae use an item on the player could solve this problem? I dunno. Also, regarding the non-completable quest to find the spy among the Followers. I know this was fixed in the 1.2.5 update, but perhaps should be fixed in an official...

Fallout 2 mod Unofficial Fo2 patch thread - problems, reports, suggestions

The dog wanders all over the place and loves hiding behind walls or strolling off the visible map. A method of finding him is to start combat and check around your range of vision for a dog shape. :) Unless I'm mistaken, Bathas' reaction is dependent on your reputation in Modoc (he...

    Itty bitty F2 tidbit

This is very true. I mentioned it mainly for the bit about Lenny. Using it on him in combat got me stuck in the ring a la the boxing ring in New Reno. However using it on him after he's dead but before the combat ends doesn't get you stuck. Sorry for posting in the wrong forum.

    Itty bitty F2 tidbit

I don't know if this counts as a bug or an exploit, but I haven't seen it covered in any of the walkthroughs or guides, so I thought I'd report it. This concerns Dr. Henry's quest to test the anti-mutagen serum. If you get into combat with a supermutant, kill him, and have enough AP left...

Fallout 2 mod Unofficial Fo2 patch thread - problems, reports, suggestions

I may be totally off here, but isn't electrical resistance (more or less) the same as your plasma resistance? If so, displaying electrical resistance would be purely aesthetic.

Why isnt fallout sold in shops any more?

I found my copy of F1 on Half.com. I'd lost my old copy and I wanted the jewel case (maybe just because I'm anal). Perfect condition and only cost me eight bucks or so. But yeah, eventually games just go out of print. The prevalent opinion is nobody wants ten year old games anymore no...

    Fallout: A Post-Nuclear War role-playing game bugs

I have up to the 1.3.2 patch installed, and looking at the contents I can't spot any updated script for Dane. But looking back in the thread I see you have addressed this already, I just hadn't installed those fixes since you had said they weren't part of an official patch yet. So my goof...

You know you play too much Fallout when...

    I'd settle for a save/reload function.

You know you play too much Fallout when...

When you're playing Arcanum and undat the whole friggin' game just so you can rename "Dog" to "Dogmeat".

    Stupid fallout experiences...

Spent god knows how much time trying to figure out how to kill Iguana Bob (quest/dialogue style, not super stimpack style) without turning the entire Hub hostile. I just couldn't accept the fact that all I could do was blackmail him, and figured there HAD to be a way to take him the hell out.

    NPC Armor

I'd personally *love* to have the Cassidy/bald headed guy usable as your PC appearance. Sounds like you're putting in a LOT of time here, and it's appreciated. I really wish I knew dick-all about graphics so I could lend a hand, I'd volunteer in a heartbeat. That would be a great series of...
