    The Courier: Amnesia or what?

    Fallout Japan aka Japan.

So after all these DLCs... the Brush gun is still THE gun?

Puts whole new emphasis on "BOOM headshot!"

    The Courier: Amnesia or what?

It would seem that the most common side-effect of exposure to radiation in this game universe is gigantism. The last thing we probably need are huge twenty-foot tall two-headed Horses of the Post-Apocalyse.

    The Courier: Amnesia or what?

I don't need a crapload of 'em! I just need MINE! In all seriousness, tho; I'll bet it's easier to figure out how to resurrect one of those hulks that love to go boom when you shoot them than find sufficiently non-mutated horses, tame them, feed them, train them and defend them from random...

    The Courier: Amnesia or what?

Horses don't respond well to errant bullets. And Fallout's not altogether hostile to the concept of wheeled vehicles - Fallouts 1 and 2 had the rear axles of cars pulled by brahmin, and Fallout 2 had the Chosen One able to resurrect a highwayman for California driving - even park it with a...

    The Courier: Amnesia or what?

At the same rate, the idea that Mojave couriers are not just reliable neutral parties but are in fact spies, intelligence agents, assassins, statesmen and kingmakers all at once is a bit much. That would certainly be more true-to-form what with the obvious Mad Max references in the Fallout...

    The Courier: Amnesia or what?

Perhaps because they wrote themselves into a corner by giving the Courier way too little background in the original game and then had to ease themselves into establishing a canon one? At least "at at least one point in time the courier made a few FedEx trips to a crossroad in the mountains...

Elite Riot Armor, Joshua's or Armor of the 87th Tribe?

Not enough in production, too late in the war...?

    The Courier: Amnesia or what?

Upon return to a place that looks nothing like the original, considering a nuclear weapon-induced earthquake literally made it unrecognizable.

    The Courier: Amnesia or what?

I'm pretty sure nobody implied that the courier forgot that the Divide exists. It's more that the courier would be at a loss as to figure out why it's pertinent to what s/he's doing at the moment. Just because I know a bunch of smuggling routes from Canada to Washington state doesn't mean...

    Is NV too much NCR-Sided?

I think the best quote is Harlan Ellison, "we are not entitled to our opinions; we are entitled to our informed opinions."

    The Courier: Amnesia or what?

To that jet-setting businessman, yes, hoofing it across a desert on foot is an Experience with capital E. To a guy who does it for a living, eh. It's a living. You see one raider, you've seen 'em all.

So after all these DLCs... the Brush gun is still THE gun?

Mine is rather boring and pedestrian but it gets the job done: .50cal Explosive (GRA) Haven't yet found an enemy I couldn't one-shot. Hell, if they're packed tightly I can one-shot whole groups: Each enemy caught in the splash ALSO gets counted as a sneak-crit.

    Is NV too much NCR-Sided?

Double standard: NCR have to keep their noses perfectly clean if there's a hint of collateral damage, but the Legion are free to commit genocide because of a few bad eggs. And since when was gambling, prostitution and theft considered worthy of capital punishment? No... they raid caravans...

    NCR Correctional Facility

I seriously doubt anybody's willing to invest good money to develop a game where 80% of what you do is hump gear in a featureless desert expanse. Yeah, they could advertise that the game is "hundreds and hundreds of hours of gameplay" but if most of that is spending half an hour trekking to the...

Things we learned from New Vegas

Don't forget that you're liable to have shot dead six or seven people before you've even left the first town. Just to recap, Murder: Okay. Smoking: Not okay.

    Is NV too much NCR-Sided?

I don't believe the question is whether the Legion is "best for the Mojave," but whether the Legion is in any significant risk of imploding. The Romans sank under their own size. The whole schtick of FONV is that the NCR is over-extended and, while the Legion will most likely wipe the entire...

    NCR Correctional Facility

Point being, they're unsustainable communities where people without means congregate. Also, Vegas is surrounded on three sides by farms. NCR sharecroppers and Westside communes aside, the entire northern suburbs are private farms and ranches. I for one am glad they're not to scale, because...

How in the hell can they say this game is Faction balanced?

    Economics dictates that they do.

How in the hell can they say this game is Faction balanced?

That reminds me: I saw California and Mojave traders heading out to Arizona, but I didn't see any Arizona traders heading into the Mojave. I can't help but wonder if it's a one-way trip.
