people like the ideas and ambitions presented even if the follow through is lack luster. Genuinely its a good game with problems, so there isn't a reason not to like it other then most quests feeling boring due to most being overly simple due to presentation and busywork. Unless your a story...

It's simple, exploring a broken down city with heavy fallout flavor is nice. Explore a desert in 3D is honestly more boring that 2.5D imo It has a full map, good atmosphere, and feels much more rewarding to go off the beaten path then NV does. Like its the same reason people like lonesome road...

Liking Ulysses as a concept is not the same as liking the character we got. Plenty of great ideas get ruined by poor execution, and lonesome road feels like they wrote its plot in about 30 mins with crayons

NV is heavily overrated in alot of ways, has people make too many excuses for the issues it has. I love the game, but 1 is such a solid title that doesn't have nearly as much shizz I can poke holes into
