General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

I love the premise of DayZ, but holy fuck is it annoying trying to group up with friends. SO.MUCH.RUNNING. Still though - popped my cherry last night and it was fun/tense as hell clashing with other players.

    Wasteland 2 screenshot and tidbits

For three months of work, I'm pretty damn happy. While my mind's eye pictured something a bit grittier, I couldn't really give a damn. I want a time machine, but I guess I'll just have to wait like everyone else.

I'd say yes, very much so. Especially if you have played and liked the Gothic series. We've been comparing Two Worlds to Gothic because they are similar action-y RPGs, but Risen is pretty much a carbon copy of the Gothic series with a different setting - all the way to the anticlimactic endings...

WIP Wasteland 2 screenshot coming next week

Sorry, I'm also jumping onto this derailed train: I agree. New Vegas was worth it, since(with hindsight) we know we got more from the Fallout universe. Did Bethesda have to buy the license? No. Did the have to screw over Obsidian by withholding royalty payments over such a narrow shortcoming...

Lol. Bad example for Crni since everything touched by Bethesda is a indefensible pile of shit in his opinion.

Bingo. Granted I've only played about 10-15 hours of the first Two Worlds, I was surprised it scored so low in general. I have read it(the first game) had a very buggy start, however. It seems like those two games with a massively random loot system. *shrug* Great? No. Good? Sure. Good enough...

Maybe they're sending it to the wrong email account? You should still be able to log into your steam account through a web browser - I recall(perhaps wrongly) only having to do that if I was logging into a steam client from another computer. Lemme know if I'm wrong - I'm curious. Either way...

Bought AssAssin's Creed: Revelations since this time around it doesn't utilize always-online DRM, only to be hindered from playing because I have to create a UPlay account and the server is down. :| FIRST WORLD PROBLEM

    Neverwinter Online - thoughts?

Yeah.. I don't get it. At least TES has a huge customer base, but like you said, look at TOR. So much wasted talent, but I guess a short-lived job is better than no job. Still, I wish I could go to investor meetings that focus on this MMO craze and just start randomly peeing on people.

    Insane Steam Sale

Welp, you convinced me to try it out. Less than $8 for two copies? SOLD! I know 38 Studios is pretty much fucked at this point, but if they wanted to ease the debt they have stacked up, they'd put Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning up for a 50% sale. I mean, fuckin' Max Payne is at 50% and it was...

    Blacklight: Retribution

Oops, meant that as an agreement to your quote. I personally wouldn't have tried it if it wasn't free, but now I'm thinking about kicking a few bucks to them for their seemingly fair and polished game.

    Blacklight: Retribution

They gotta make money somehow, so I dunno why people bitch. This seems like a good system to me, especially for people that don't have 8-16 hours a day to grind up the levels. I've played up to level 7. It's fun so far. There are servers specifically for low level players, but even playing on...

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

Bought Two Worlds for four bucks on GoG. I expected much worse - it's enjoyable enough, although it has balance and polish issues. Very, very similar to Divinity 2.

Hell is not frozen yet! (Diablo 3)

Fighting elite/champion packs is so much funner than running the same boss fight over. and over. and over. But my friends and I don't play much more because grinding in general becomes lame. PvP will be a nice addition once they get their shit together.

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

Planescape: Torment should be re-classified as a gamebook. <3 that stuff.

Games you don't want to play again

Master of Orion 3. I love complexity, but G-fucking-sus. Also, Eve Online. Fuck that noise. That's a second job.

Diablo III proves old-school Fallout can do well today

Third person narrative is pretty pointless unless you have a book that requires various viewpoints. I can't really understand anyone wanting it otherwise, unless it's for the ubiquity or whatever.

Diablo III proves old-school Fallout can do well today

I was using the worst possible example in my case(mass quantity seller) to show that even the most popular of the current isometric games, which was in development for about a decade, doesn't create enough pull for the genre to consider isometric games "trendy". <strike>Oh, you missed that? I...
