Fallout: New Vegas reviews round-up #9

Well, it seems to be a two way street to me. But their lane does look a lot more obnoxious I guess. If you've played it, did you enjoy New Vegas? I honestly think it is as close to a perfect Fallout game for me. It could be a little more RPG, but Fallout 1 and 2 could have been a little more...

Fallout: New Vegas reviews round-up #9

Seriously, what the hell? It was a great enjoyment for me, I thought the first person design was even better than isometric (although admittedly, the engine could have been better), and I am a Bethesda fan. I guess that means I am a lesser person or something? Honestly, where is all of this...

The Vault is monstrous, and other stuff

What's wrong with that? Fallout 3 didn't do too much wrong. It was different from the first games, because a. it was set across the country from them, and b. it was developed like 10 years later.

NMA Fallout: New Vegas Impression Piece

Exactly. That is such a long mission, it's going to be really annoying to do that again... At least it can be done in conjunction with other quests, so I'll try to get it early this playthrough.

Yeah, so far I have done Vault 11 and Vault 22, and I have to say that they were both cool places to explore. Shame that Vault 11 only has, as far as I can tell, one quest involving it (Still in the Dark). Lots of people will likely miss it.

Hey, most people play a game because they think that it is fun. Writing may or may not contribute to the perceived funness of a game. Personally, it isn't at the top of my list. I prefer balanced combat and interesting scenarios, as others may prefer making big booms.

Same thing really. I meant a hard c, as is always the case in Latin. Hence, kai-zar. Latin is by no means a "dead language". It is still widely spoken and taught, and has been since the days of Rome. Intelligencia has used it since the Middle Ages, and the Renaissance saw a revival of perfected...

Yes indeed, Caesar is correctly pronounced kai-zar. Just like Veni, Vidi, Vici, is pronounced Wini, widi, wici. You see, you can't combat the ignorance of someone, whom I agree is a "fanboy", but is entitled to his opinion, with more ignorance.

Fallout: New Vegas Launch Day Reviews

Yeah, when a lot of them said that it was more of the same - to Fallout 3 - I was pretty excited. The new aspects seem like they will make it better than Fallout 3 in most respects. Of course, a mostly derivative, but in the end better, work is gonna get more grief than a more original and...

They didn't take it out, they just changed the name from "Fatman" to "Nuka Launcher", for obvious reasons. And yes, chances are, they will do the name change again.

    Fallout: New Vegas companions revealed

I don't see the issue with making a reference to a character from the little known (to most of the new audience) previous games of the series in their first go at it. It is only natural that they would add in stuff that gives a degree of familiarity. I don't get why old gamers are complaining...

    Pete Hines interview

But they are still responsible for it being done. Whether that is through direct programming etc, or through funding people to do that. Technically by your standards they are no more responsible than Urquhart. Bethesda has directed a lot about this game and is publishing it, it is fair for them...

Given that Obsidian wouldn't even be doing this without the patronage of Bethesda, I believe they have to right to claim partial credit for the work...

    @GAMER New Vegas article scans

The Fallout setting could really be any type of genre. I actually think first person is the best way to show it, being more atmospheric and immersing. Sure, TB is important to the original Fallout series, but setting really has nothing to do with it. EDIT: Whoa...

    Fallout: New Vegas gameplay clips

I disagree. Dialogue is important to a lot of people who will buy New Vegas, as goes for many RPGs. The problem is, showing your character talking to people in a context you probably know nothing about isn't that exciting. Whereas flashy combat and the setting are a lot better to show in a brief...

    Fallout: New Vegas gameplay clips

Yeah, because adults aren't into action video games and testing out combat. In truth, combat is a very unimportant part of action RPGs.

    New Vegas Definitive Ending Explanation

Fixed. I thought this was pretty hilarious myself. Oh, and I don't think this is trolling. Just wanted to make a point when the opportunity shoved itself in my face, really. I personally don't care if the ending goes either way, but to tell the player they won't be coming back sort of spoils the...

    New Vegas Definitive Ending Explanation

The ending was fine, just the way that they got around the definitive ending with Broken Steel was kind of lame. They should have made some real changes to the final quest, so you getting out would actually make sense.
