    Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

I really wish game developers would take the torch from Obsidian and spread the element of choice of in their games. Just because you want to make it accessible doesn't mean you have to dumb it down. The Hardcore/Vanilla was a great option to have in NV and I would love to see all sorts of...

    Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

I actually don't mind the spell. I hate quest markers and use what ever means to turn them off. But they do come in handy such as tracking people down that move all over the goddamn place along with non specified quest locations. At least with this spell, it's a in-game way to locate those...

GOG puts its Interplay catalogue on sale

Thanks for the heads up. I immediately purchased Giants:Citizen Kabuto when I saw it on sale. A classic very-underrated action strategy game. Definitely worth the $2.99 price tag. And it's fairly lengthy for an action, if you know, you take into consideration things such as that.

Unsurprisingly, Duke Nukem Forever reviews are negative

But I don't see whats wrong with them. They are like every other shooter. Maybe my opinion is just causing me to read it differently. *shrugs* I see issues with the design as a whole, not the implementation.

Unsurprisingly, Duke Nukem Forever reviews are negative

I find it funny that the things that bring this game down are its use of modern game mechanics. I don't think people should view DNF as a game in the wrong time period, but a critique over its own trends and design. If DNF had stuck with the rules of its predecessor, all these reviewers really...

    Feline surprise

Be careful with young cats who have kittens. Much like humans, a cat who gets pregnant too early can have some serious mental issues. It seems the sudden change of responsibilities is just as traumatizing to little kitties as it is to teen females. Case in point, we had the sweetest little...

    Good post-apocalyptic books?

If you don't mind trash novels, I've heard the Deathlands series are pretty good. I for one recommend The Gunslinger by Stephen King. It's perfectly end of the worldish, philosophical and I enjoyed the relative short size and fast pacing. (A good break from the typical George RR Martin sized...

New Skyrim's E3 demo looking quite...

I don't really mind them taking out skills as long as they make up for it with more character specialization, as there are a lot of throw away skills in Elderscrolls games. The new Perk system seems to be a good way to balance the smaller number of skills. Since you can bring up any skill at any...

New Skyrim's E3 demo looking quite...

Patrick Stewart has a tendency to do that to mediocre products. But hey! When you hit rock bottom, the only way to go is up, correct? And when expectations are so low, at least I won't be disappointed. The demo looked ok at best. The combat looks mightily clunky though, and duel wielding was...

    E3

Being a player of EVE and a lover of PS3, I think Dust 514 might be on my list of buys. The trailer looked decent, but its how they want to integrate it with EVE that makes it very interesting.

    Mass Effect 3 discussion

[spoiler:a60832361f]What IS dumb however is just how useless they made the Citadel Relay. So its the prime relay that allows the reapers in? Ok, then what bout the relay in The Arrival DLC that allows them to jump to any point in our systems at any time? I call bullshit.[/spoiler:a60832361f]

    Playing the Final Fantasy games

VI will always be my favorite title in the series. It was my first real RPG that I have completed multiple playthroughs of as a kid. It also showed to me there are much deeper games out on the market than plumbers and little blue hedgehogs. I started out as a console game and it was this very...

X-Com being made into an FPS (Again?)

You know? I was curious about Fallout 3. I don't even think I can be in the same room when someone gives this game a play.

    Legendary Fallout modder Prosper interviewed

He tries to come off as a self-proclaimed martyr. Bitch and moan because no one paid attention. Was this even worth anyone's time?

    Phantasy Star Online 2

Give me an announcement for Phantasy Star V and they maybe then I'll be excited. Actually I won't be cynical here; if they made a V, I'd completely shit myself from excitement.

Interplay financials: Fallout Online in doubt

Less theme park and more sandbox. I highly doubt it though. All the WoW wanna be's see to it that true player driven economies and social politics are dead.

May 21 - set your calender for Apocalypse

Christians contradicting their own holy book isn't anything new. The Bible says man can't possibly know the return of Christ. That in itself means most of these doom prophecies are false. Unless someone gets really lucky and nails it perfectly. I could just keep saying the next day is the end...

Strategy games (recommend me some if you please)

I see where your coming from I believe. Because you control individual units in small skirmishes? Does that make Total War a strategy game?

Strategy games (recommend me some if you please)

Total Annihilation is a great RTS. If I remember correctly it was greatly overlooked because of Starcraft. However, I believe it to be a much superior game with its universe, and massive amounts of units. If you've played Supreme Commander before you have a good idea how TA works. Still, TA...

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

I wonder if this has anything to do with JoWood going bankrupt. Maybe now the Gothic name will go back to Piranha Bytes since it was a timed contract to begin with. Not that it matters, since I've mentioned before, Risen skillfully improves the Gothic formula without sacrificing much of it's...
