    Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Total conversion mods are just too much work with current games, I guess. There's way more to convert now than there was with Half-Life, back in the '90s. There is the SkyWind project, though, that's aiming (and making good progress) to 'import' Morrowind to the Skyrim engine. There's plenty...

I don't see why American companies don't have to publish data. Really, I don't get it. It's like that in most civilized countries - corporate secrecy never does anyone any good. At any rate, neither of us can prove anything (though I do have some tangeable evidence to support my assumptions...

    The Shandification of Fallout

The most amusing thing about free-roam games like F:NV, Skyrim or whatnot is that the population ratio of bandits:everyone else is usually 10:1 or something - made worse by re-spawns. It's all suspension of disbelief, I guess. TBH, to me personally Skyrim did a better job of it than F:NV...

    Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

People have gotten a lot more fickle concerning copyright and permission to use the mods they've created, apparently. There's a few combo-mods, but not a lot. And considering their nature they're usually more difficult to combine with a plethora of other mods because it's not always as clear...

    inXile funding Torment

Re: Just a general FYI: I work for inXile now Oh really? You seem to be very well-versed in the internal financial housekeeping and budgeting of InXile. You have some information I don't? What I see is this: a company that was, prior to the WLII kickstarter, most likely on the verge...

    Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

I'd just like to mention that I got a Skyrim with 214 mods running smoothly, crash- and bugfree, and without any perfomance loss. Let me henceforth be known as a god amongst men. Also, this. took. ages.

Aparently, only completely public companies are obliged to publish balance sheets in the US. Heh. That's amazing. How could you ever have any transparency whatsoever if companies don't have to make anything public? In the EU, every company with limited liability is required to publish their...

    inXile funding Torment

Re: Just a general FYI: I work for inXile now That's bullshit. Wasn't the big idea to use the revenues from the kickstarted WLII to fund their future projects? Do they really think people are going to keep supporting them for free if they're just going to turn out all profits for themselves...

Impire: a spiritual successor to Dungeon Keeper (sorta)

I played DK2 not too long ago; if you roll it back to the second-to-last patch, the AI and stuff is better than you see in a lot of current RTS games. I don't see how the makers of Impire could do (a lot) worse in that regard than a now 14-year old game. Pretty embarassing.

Impire: a spiritual successor to Dungeon Keeper (sorta)

It's published by Paradox, apparently. Take this advice from someone with a lot of experience with Paradox: don't buy Paradox games until there's a 'collector's edition' (with the inevitable 15 expansions/DLCS's) three years or so after release. Pre-ordering or buying a Paradox game on...

System Shock 2 comes to GOG

Aaaah, SS2. Good memories. I probably couldn't replay it today, though, since I couldn't get past the graphics. The progression of technology has spoiled me.

    Does anybody play EU3?

I rarely play anything other than Germany in the HOI games. Nothing else seems all that exciting in the long run - invading the USA with the Soviet Union takes too long to be fun (catching up in navy for 5 to 6 years gets boring fast), for instance.

    Does anybody play EU3?

Well, I'd consider playing and surviving as a backwards tech nation fun on its own, but if people are going to whine the Aztecs should have as much chance to "win" as, say, the French do then they can knock themselves out. EU3 is extremely malleable, you can set up all kinds of fun...

    Does anybody play EU3?

If you want to play, for instance, the Aztecs with a tech-research level on par with the west, just edit the history file or your save game (the latter is preferrable) and change their tech group from "new world" to "western". Takes like five minutes. Also, you don't "replay history". I've...

    Does anybody play EU3?

New World cultures research at 10% of Western cultures, but it goes faster than that up to level 4. Playing new world countries is basically about planning meticulously and then waiting a while. If you set things up right, and have a wee bit of luck with the monarch you have, you can take the...

    THQ is dead

I hope SEGA doesn't fiddle with CoH2, adding all kinds of wee shit in small-time DLC's like they did with Shogun 2: Total War... I kinda liked the way it was handled in CoH1, with two large-isch expansion packs.
