I think it looks pretty cool but it could use some more emphasis on the horror part. It needs more camera zoom ins/cut scenes or something when something important happens to get the "OMG A DEAD BODY" feeling. People need to take visible damage from the guns too like broken limbs etc. Overall...
I hope they don't just give them the choice of engine to use, but also time for testing it and bug fixing. Considering how many hours have gone into bug testing the current engine I can really understand if it is used as an argument to use it again. Not to mention knowledge.

Never experienced a crash in single player but in multiplayer the client can crash when either you try to connect to a badly configured server or you loose your connection to a badly configured server. I think it has to do with handling of timeouts or something.

I have heard that you can can still get viruses though since they have special properties making them survive almost any condition (apart from serious heat?) putting them into hibernation, just to re-awake in the right condition again (as in, inside a body).
