After the ending... What is there to do?

Jason Bright & co. could have already programmed their coordinates while they were hanging around in the REPCONN building since presumably they knew where they were going long before they were capable of getting there, you just can make an alteration to the course so they get closer to their...

Serious Discussion: Why is this series attracting so many idiots?

New Vegas is a funny game, since it's the sort of game that gets better the more you pay attention, think about it, and consider it on its own terms and these are basically things that every other AAA video game trains you not to do. I've honestly found "how much you like New Vegas" to be...

How do you feel about the change in gameplay style from the original Fallouts?

I am pretty much the same way. I can line up long-distance shots sniping with a scope from stealth in New Vegas, because then I can take practically as long as I want to line up the shot, but doing it in a time-sensitive situation (like when people are shooting at you) is pretty much beyond me.

    Will obsidian make another fallout?

How soon after Fallout 3 shipped did Obsidian start working on New Vegas? I know it was a quick turnaround, so it's conceivable that if Bethesda were to pay for a third party to do another Fallout game, they wouldn't have done anything about it yet.

After the ending... What is there to do?

I always just figured they were going to Hawaii. Since the war was between the U.S. and China, and Hawaii is the main anchorage for the U.S. Pacific fleet, I imagine it would have bee nuked to all hell in the initial exchange in the Great War. So it would be pretty ideal for ghouls who...

Poll: Which New Vegas DLC is the best?

Yeah, there are basically three central (potential) motivations for the Courier built into New Vegas: - Revenge. - Professionalism. - Figure out then have your say on what's going on here. If you're motivated exclusively by one of the three, then professionalism isn't going to get you into the...

So in the end, what was even the point of the Synths?

I think "turns out that the PC is a synth" was almost certainly considered during development, but they probably thought it as a pretty predictable twist and so rejected it.

Fuck It! (Fallout 4 review, rant, plead...)

Some people like putting together things (Minecraft, Legos, etc.) That's not me though, I like putting together characters, stories (I had a custom D&D setting that was recently retired after 11 years), but I can see why the Minecraft set like it.

Fuck It! (Fallout 4 review, rant, plead...)

I think that people who work up stratospheric hour counts is that they are getting really into the settlement building, as you can spend more or less forever on that.

Poll: Which New Vegas DLC is the best?

I think the idea is that LR is supposed to fit late enough in the game that the Courier feels pretty secure and powerful, and has already taken revenge on the one person that screwed her so she's looking for a reckoning with the original person who set the Courier up. I mean, "revenge" is one...

Is 3-Dog a terrible moral guardian?

The basic idea about the "radio DJ reports on what you've been up to as part of the news" is a good idea. It makes sense that there would be radio (since fixing up the tech here isn't too hard), and it makes sense that there would be news on the radio (since people want to hear what happens)...

After the ending... What is there to do?

It's sort of funny. New Vegas can't continue after the end, because the game assumes that you care about the setting and the characters so it tells you what happens to the people and the places in the years to come and this is assumed to mean more to you than "you can kill as many Fiends and...

A couple of choice shares about Fallout 4 on Reddit

Well, presumably they're planning on making another Fallout game. It might be "Fallout Shelter 2" but they didn't buy the license to not-make Fallout games.

    Best Fallout game

I think it had more choice but not more consequence. There were a lot of quests in Fallout 3 that boiled down to "do you do the good thing or the really evil thing" and the only thing this really changes a lot of the time is "what Three Dog says on the radio. I guess when you let the ghouls...

Fuck It! (Fallout 4 review, rant, plead...)

I think a real problem is that a lot of portions of gaming are simply allergic to their own history. I can't at the same time claim that folks who call themselves "huge Fallout fans" because of Fo3&4 owe it to themselves to give the originals a try, or that people who really liked Dragon Age or...

What was the point of Fallout 4's story?

Honestly this is a brilliant idea. The Next Fallout game *needs* baseball mime raiders.

"Isometric turn-based games cannot have good graphics"

Whether we're talking about graphics (which is really just an issue of math, e.g. "how many polygons") or aesthetics ("how nice it looks all things considered") it's pretty silly to say that a broad category game mechanics are going to affect that in a meaningful way. If the scenery is nice to...

Fuck It! (Fallout 4 review, rant, plead...)

There is a serious problem though with people who are fans of games not bothering to care about anything but the newest and shiniest games though. Arena is terrible, but it's at least worth poking at for a while to examining why it's terrible. Dagerfall is far less terrible, but it's basically...

What was the point of Fallout 4's story?

In New Vegas what really makes the Vipers, Jackals, Scorpions, and various unspecified affiliation raiders work as "automatically hostile" is that some of the Raider groups who are in positions of strength (Khans, Fiends, Powder Gangers probably) can be approached peacefully and talked to. This...

What was the point of Fallout 4's story?

Fancy Raiders is still Raiders. I mean, that Bethesda is too lazy to flesh out the tribal identities of their human cannon fodder is sort of irrelevant. Raiders are simply any group of wastelanders that engage in pillaging as a means to support themselves. The Jackals, Vipers, Khans (all...
