I recently made a small plug to NMA on another fourm and stirred up some talk on Fallout past/present/future, as well as some discussion aobut Bethesda. It's fairly unnerving what the general public thinks about Fallout...

The worst game I've ever played is Universal Combat. Although it promises it can do all this crap, it comes with no tutorial, no tool-tips, and no way to help a new player, which it really needs. The game is altogether confusing, glitchy, and with graphics that make the SNES look like a PC...

But...?

Well, it's good to have more intelligent people on the forums. Wait, intelligent members on forums who aren't admins? That seems impossible!

Well, I don't know if I'll watch the Flash, but I do have a short attention span and... OOOOH SHINNEY PENNY!

But why even expose them to it in the first place? It's just like a nuclear weapon: if you never "experience" it (like me), you're fine. If you do "experience" it, it'll fuck you up in the sense that anyone could make something that bad, and, in the case of the weapon, possibly kill you.

We'll just brainwash the FPS-ers into thinking Fallout will be a good RPG. That'll piss 'em off and they can take stick it to "Fear-Gut."

That's just cruel and unusual, dude. It's been about a year or two since I took my first steps into the Wasteland (I'm 14 now). I think it was 2004 when I got the game. Just got likely when visting my favorite used book/electronics/games store. Sure, Fallout has lots of gore...

Summaries never do a good job anyway, especially for games. They're something that has to be experienced. Unless it's a game novel or something.

Whenever I hear the word "extreme," all I can think of is Johnny Extreme from G4TV.
