    Games that make you tense?

The Cradle level in Thief 3 was amazingly intense. Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of The Earth also had some nail-biting moments, specifically the hotel chase sequence. System Shock 2 was awesome on its own but I read an account somewhere of a multiplayer session that was even more awesome...

    Hardware help?

Is this a brand-name PC? In that case you should go to manufacturer webpage for your model and look for drivers there (all but the graphics driver). You can find out what type of device the driver is missing by doing some googling. I forgot how to read this info in XP but I believe you need...

Canard PC Fallout: New Vegas preview

Maybe they should consider starting an international (in English) edition. A gaming mag unafraid to scrutinize mainstream titles may have an audience outside France.

    BioShock Infinite

Isn't this kind of taking a dump on the Bioshock lore, where the underwater city was one-of-a-kind experiment gone wrong? I don't really know much about it, only played the first one and found it infinitely inferior to System Shock 2. The concept (of underwater utopia) was kind of cool but...

We're gonna make it to the church on time!

Recycling Harold's talking head is a bit lame. Other than that this isn't really grating me, especially keeping the Oasis travesty in mind.

    Input Devices: The Thread

This was my first serious keyboard/mouse set (as opposed to junk I was using before that). Later I got this: Nowdays I'm only using my laptop so this one it is: And I love it to death.

Fallout: New Vegas guide blog update, shots

Because inserting slightly tweaked WW2 weapons into Fallout is a kudos-worthy achievement. Not only would the massive magazine placed laterally completely debalance a hand-held precision weapon, it's also completely pointless if you can just as easily store the required ammo in the buttstock...

Fallout: New Vegas guide blog update, shots

Or maybe because retro-futurism = moronic collage of old and modern. Talk about comprehension check fail. Sorry to go off topic but after playing F3 vanilla I decided not to touch anything else Beth made and didn't know about this gun at all.

All Roads graphic novel 12-page preview now available

This is where it's at. http://www.hermannhuppen.com/jeremiah-galerie.shtml So weird he'd include the Kurdy gun fishing panel, it's from the first Jeremiah comic I ever read.

    fixing a mirror

I'm aware of that but: 1. It's a major project with no guarantee of success. 2. Kits cost a pretty penny. 3. Mercury poisoning It's not cost-effective (as opposed to sending the mirror in for resilvering or purchasing a new one), it's dangerous and it's not something you can expect to do...

    Laptops, durability and warranty

I've always been a fan of Thinkpad T series. They can take the licking and keep on ticking, and IBM worldwide warranty is pretty awesome. There has been some decline since Lenovo took over though. I own a T61 and T43 and the T61 is experiencing problems with a faulty Nvidia chip which is...

    fixing a mirror

No way to fix it. Best you can do is devise some sort of frame to cover it up. Depending on how the mirror is mounted you can try to seal the edges to prevent water/cleaning agents (which are causing the degradation) from seeping behind - probably with silicone paste.
