The Glow: no charred bodies (German version)

Yes, that works Silencer. It is the german version of the game I have - running with the critter.dat file of the english original. So, the maps weren't modified after all. I guess the engine simply removes any objects when there is no graphics found to represent them. Here is a picture...

The Glow: no charred bodies (German version)

I can do the master.dat thing tomorrow -- will do. About children. No, I've never seen any at all (yet). But down in the Glow there was a very small body. Perhaps that ... would have been a child.

    how about the graphics?

I'll be fine with a 3rd person perspective from above the character, much like the original games. While I love Gothic and wouldn't mind playing lots more great games like it (using it's controls, etc), having a 3rd person or 1st person perspective would have the likely disadvantage that it...

The Glow: no charred bodies (German version)

Okay everyone, problem's solved. Just not the experimental way -- Now I do have the english game version. I may not keep it - but the savegame where I'm standing right above the Glow worked perfectly fine after patching the english game to 1.1 as well. And from there I could just go on...

The Glow: no charred bodies (German version)

Right. There's no life down there. The robots do not move and the rat's not there (the rat you can see on Silencer's screenshot). Silencer now sent me a SAV file that I can try out when I get back home. I'll report back with whatever result I get. Hope that'll sort of "cheat" things around to...

The Glow: no charred bodies (German version)

There was one corpse right at the beginning of the game at vault 13, one more corpse that had lots of junk tech parts on it by the deathclaws... lots of corpses I 'caused'... but none of them looked like they were burned. I've seen: normal (wounded) dead people splattered dead people...

The Glow: no charred bodies (German version)

Silencer sent me a GLOW1.MAP file of his game version and I tried replacing that while running the game, and then moving into the area with the replaced file. Maybe I didn't do it right, so nothing had changed. Then I put GLOW1.MAP into the savegame directory while actually being in the glow...

The Glow: no charred bodies (German version)

Thanks for the image! Here's mine (I've tried reloading, including renaming the sav file (wasn't sure if it's really okay to delete it entirely). Yes, I did find the yellow keycard on the BIS soldier on level one. He was the only body I ever found there. I guess I'm screwed. Something...

The Glow: no charred bodies (German version)

There should be a body in the northeast room on level 2 of the Glow. The key should be on the body but ... There is no such body in my game. There is absolutely nothing down there 'xept the BOS soldier, "dead" robots and a couple of items. The place is squeaky clean! I'm playing the german...

    Definitely no S.T.A.L.K.E.R. in 2005

So they going to "fine tune" this for a year? I wonder what needs to be fine tuned here. Are they acclerating time by a thousandfold and notice that the animals are dying out or what? Faulty food chain? Are mice plotting to take over their game world? Thought this was a radioactive dump anyway...

    Best game music!

Lumines - (PSP) has lots of great music that changes when you play adequately. Unreal - (PC) this has to be one of the nicest game soundtracks ever. The Dig - (PC) may be that it's a bit uninspired at times, but it's nice to listen to. Ultima Underworlds - (PC/Midi) a few select pieces...

    Schroeder Loses Vote Of Confidence

Back when the Iraq war started coming up again I was very happy to have Schroeder in the position my vote was aiming for, earlier. Early on I was checking who's for what, and who might be best in charge of what, I was even more convincend. With other people in power - they might have just simply...

    The Fall - first impressions

Don't tell me I didn't warn you. The game sucks! I've bought it a while ago and wrote quite some of my bitterness about it into a posting not too long ago. Alright, so it's good to get more and more opinions on the game to make your choice but one thing is definately not true. This game does...

    Old(er) games that deserve a remake/sequel

Deus Ex 3. And this time it ought to be more the way the first game was. Complex, lengthy, oozing Warren Spectors sweat everywhere. A real and final chapter to Ultima. Make it SINGLEplayer. Come on, the storyline of Ascension was cut so they could reuse old CGI rendering scenes. Yes they...

    Awards for Fallout 3 Already

I meant: Nobody would [be dumb enough] to expect something like screenshots or movies right now - as the News that Bethesda is taking over F3 is still fresh. Plus, as far as I know - they kept saying that this is in planning stage, bla, and people shouldn't bother to ask yet...

    Awards for Fallout 3 Already

I guess it's normal to advertise games or movies that aren't even out yet. Nobody really expected to actually see a screenshot, much less some gameplay movie of Fallout 3. Still, it would have been nice to hear a little about what kinds of design decisions were made already. You know, the...

Gothic II, just played the demo . . Wow!!!

I've finished both Gothic I and II (with Addon) in German a couple of weeks ago and I cannot possibly praise these games enough. There are a lot of games that promised outstanding interactivity, living and breathing game world and smart characters on the game covers, and Gothic actually...

    The Fall English Version Negotiated?

My first message on here, mew =^_^=. I live in Germany, and I bought the Fall a couple of days ago. I returned it to the store two days later. Had nothing but stress trying to run the game properly. From what I've learned on the Silver forums - the 3D Engine written or utilised works a lot...
