Unmasking the Gamers: Chris Avellone, part three

This makes me unbelievably angry, to think that these could be in my game and instead are on some harddrive somewhere. :(

    Lonesome Road trailer released

I love Metallic Monks (the BoS music with the air raid sirens). <Ulysses>Amazing trailer, did its job. Got me pumped for this DLC. Sad to hear about the Vault 21 suit, MCA said it was cut. Those mushroom clouds need a lot of work.</Ulysses> The voice over here was better here than the...

    Lonesome Road Holotape #2

Uh, I'm pretty sure Ulysses mean Elijah and Christine. Chicago and DC are really, really far away and are a non-factor in the Mojave. I liked Cross's VA work in the OWB holotapes, but these two don't sound as natural as those did. Like, I can understand him speaking like that with another...

    Old World Blues Toaster interview

I also totally did not pick up on that. That's awesome. Somebody needs to do an interview with the guy that voiced Muggy. Top question: What went through your head when you first looked at the script?

JE Sawyer on the GRA item pack

Sorta off-topic but is anyone writing an official NMA review?

Lonesome Road coming September 20th + weapon pack DLCs

From JES's Formspring: <Sigh>...Who am I kidding, I can't hate a guy who is more accessible to fans that any developer I've seen. I guess I'll give him the benefit of the doubt on this one (and my $4). Still, I'm getting the overwhelming feeling to get into the shower and start scrubbing.

Lonesome Road coming September 20th + weapon pack DLCs

The screenshot is giving me chills. God, this DLC is going to be sweet. As for the additional content packs, they reek of some exec saying"Ok, we're shutting this thing down, what can we do to sell some stuff that was/should be released for free?" Seriously, everyone should just get the...

    Chris Avellone interview

I think he means that publishers don't give a shit about what developers do with DLCs, so long as it sells more copies of the main game. Which makes sense when you look at how different each of the NV DLCs are different from the main game and each other.

Unmasking the Gamers: Chris Avellone, part two

Yeah, I liked that one and "If I make out with the sink will you pay attention to me?". But as I said, her delivery of the lines was fine. I just liked the others appliances personalities more.

Unmasking the Gamers: Chris Avellone, part two

Veronica Belmont surprised me as well. When the Qore preview came out, they showcased a few of her lines and it didn't really click with me. But once I was playing OWB, the stealth suit is good ("Starting combat...Just kidding.") and the holotapes were well done. The lightswitches, though...

Fallout: New Vegas Old World Blues Reviews Round-up #10

I actually just finished my second playthrough (which is the do everything/explore everything one) last night. I've enjoyed it both times. While I agree that the combat is boring (and has been since F3) and I acknowledge that bullet sponge enemies can be considered "cheap", I liked that it...

Lonesome Road delayed and first screenshot

Man, that screenshot is lame. That's the best teaser they could come up with? Avellone's Twitter pic is better than that.

    Lonesome Road's achievements released

ED-E was shot twice in the beginning of the New Vegas trailer. It was found and brought to Nash. I'm pretty sure Nash says it was found by a caravan. It seems unlikely that it was involved with Ulysses. More likely there's some kind of lost Enclave outpost in the Divide that has eyebot...

Fallout: New Vegas Old World Blues Reviews Round-up #1

I'm enjoying it quite a bit, especially the difficulty of it. I went in with my lvl 16 guns char and it's quite hard. The Lobomomites are a cakewalk compared to the nightstalkers, police dogs, and robots.

Fallout: New Vegas Old World Blues released on Steam

Holy crap, I wasn't expecting it up until this afternoon! Damn, gotta make a hard call: go to work or stay home....

    Old World Blues trailer

Eh, for the most part, the DLCs have been pretty serious in terms of tone, so I'm fine with them making one that's a little "out there". JE Sawyer already said that this was going to be the most "lulzy" of the DLCs. Besides, Lonesome Road is still on the way and I imagine that one will be...

Fallout: New Vegas patched on PC and PS3

Wow, that looks pretty bad, it's all shiny and new. I mean, I didn't expect new art, but man, just make it a monitor sitting on a table with a fusion battery hookup, like the street lights.

Fallout: New Vegas Patch Changelog Released

Shit, Caravan's actually going to be hard now. EDIT: I'm also a little sad at the toning down of the companion "barks". Clearly, the original frequency was too much, and they really should have had a short alternate version (for example just the "Oooook" part of Arcade's, or "Ssshhh" part...

Unmasking the Gamers: Chris Avellone, part one

Hmm, any guesses as to what the 3 or 4 things may be? The Courier being shot has to be one, but I'm not sure what the other ones are. I mean, if you can do Lonesome Road before doing any quests in vanilla F:NV, what other experiences does every Courier share that would form the basis for the...

Fallout: New Vegas developers quote round-up

I don't always agree or like Sawyer's explanations for certain things in New Vegas. But the fact that he voluntarily provides these explanations and answers is really awesome. I can't think of another (major) developer that follows up this much with the fans. It also makes me desperately hope...
