A slight variation of the first... probably.

    360 Gamer Hands-On Preview

Nothing kills Oblivion more than being unable to truly interact with any of the characters. The world comes to a completely lifeless grinding halt when you take quests or interact with them. Fallout 3 has dialogue trees. Why haven't we seen more coverage of this in detail with all the previews?

"Inside the Vault" Daryl Brigner: Level Designer

What's there to like? It seems to be a bunch of empty corridors and a room with a lone Robco. security robot. Gee whiz, great design! I really do hope there is more to this area than what was shown in the preview. (Channeling my cynical old fart.) Surprisingly, Mad Mantis and I shared a...

"Inside the Vault" Daryl Brigner: Level Designer

The 3rd or 4th gameplay video recently revealed, to my disappointment, that the Super Duper Mart was not so very Super Duper. And judging by the video demonstrations, it probably wasn't very super in it's hay-day either. Where the hell are the details? Aisle after empty aisle does not tell a...

"Inside the Vault" Daryl Brigner: Level Designer

Oh, come on. It may sound like it, but not all level designers are the monkeys trying to write Shakespeare. However it does concern me that this particular chap fails to realize he has half the work done for him. Because there is this great game to draw inspiration from...

Fallout 3 interviews: TeamXbox, VideoGamer.com, Gamasutra

I was a little turned off by the interview and Pagliarulo's comment regarding writing a game plot or material for characters. It was as if he was defending mediocrity, where players should be thankful we get any kind of meaningful plot in any form. Maybe I'm wrong but that was the impression I...

Fallout 3 interviews: TeamXbox, VideoGamer.com, Gamasutra

The last interview from Gamasutra with Pagliarulo seems to be most revealing about character interactions, thanks for linking it NMA. Fallout didn't have a great many NPCs that would unload on the player with texts of information. But the game had moments that called you away to read more...

Fallout 3 playable to the public at PAX

The guides seem like pretty good swag for just an expo. Of course it may just be a flimsy booklet, and nothing compared to the original guide/manual that came with the first Fallouts'.

    Fallout 3 screenshots galore

I don't understand the logic of making the time-line for Fallout 3 200 years into the future at all. The screenshots show the ruined civilization as if it was still during the first Fallout storyline, or perhaps after the bombs dropped only yesterday. Adding two more centuries serves no purpose...

    IGN LiveWire presentation available

The vid previews are always great, but I would appreciate a little more attention on the role playing aspect! Unless the whole game is as presented and you're just going around whacking things for no good reason.

    New game, Bioshock.

Bioshock was marketed as an RPG/FPS up until a month or so before game release. The change was subtle, but for those who were following the game would notice. Now BioShock is just a "revolutionary" FPS game. Which is fine, the developers made a mistake or they just embellished the truth a...

Ol' Bitmap Bros games to be reworked?

An off-topic question for you Silencer, I recognized your avatar and banner as GameBoy Advance game I have. Is Wings also a PC game that may have been ported to the Advance? Wings is a fun game, It has some similarity to Wings of Glory that I really liked from the old 486PC days.

    New game, Bioshock.

Even though I agree with the Zero Punctuation review of BioShock, I still think it is an excellent game far exceeding the typical fare on the Xbox 360 or perhaps even PC. The Zero review even says the game is very good, the only complaint he gives, and I agree with, is the lack of any strong...

    New game, Bioshock.

In an ideal world that is how it should work Kyuu. Except now with the 360 and everybody and their dog having problems, Microsoft is pretty backed-up I hear.

    New game, Bioshock.

Because at the time they wanted 180$ US in repairs, that's nearly the price of a bare bones console 360, sans Hard Drive. I didn't want to wait around months on end for my fixed console to arrive. And now I think Microsoft is repairing certain consoles free of charge, so I'm going to get in...

I feel your pain Duckman. I'm playing on my second 360... If and when it fails, I'll be up the creek without a paddle. I still need to send in my first for repair!
