    Radiation and Half-Lifes

relax, i was just adding some info and correcting minor errors. that is, stating that alpha radiation was entirely harmless, which it isn't. second, the major risk with nuclear fallout is, as a matter of fact, ingestion or inhalation of activated particles in a direct or indirect manner. so...

    Radiation and Half-Lifes

alpha particles can be pretty dangerous if ingested or inhaled and kill within days. they may alter DNA, too. but that's the least of your problems.

    Raven Rock

my thoughts exactly. ok, maybe his fat mutated fingers would have typed 36316387163894 instead of the required combination. which was the easiest "secret" ever, btw. i agree on the dialogue-part. i remember debating with the master. yes, DEBATING, that his whole new race is infertile. whereas...

the sniper rifle. also more powerful.

    The MIRV - spoiler

well, technically the V1 was a cruise missile and the V2 was a SRBM :) although plans for multi-stage ICBMs were in the works. furthermore: in a war between superpowers - no.

    The MIRV - spoiler

goodness, your are one of the few people to admit they were wrong over the internet. you gain karma :) garden variety TELs. that is, big trucks with missiles on their back. the west had the BGM-109, russia had the ssc-4 and -5. potent weapons, since the launch would not have been spotted by...

    The MIRV - spoiler

yes you can, why do you think i brought it up? :) the MOAB weighs 7 tons. has a yield of 11 tons of tnt. the russian "FOAB" weighs 7 tons. produces an estimated yield of 44 tons of tnt. C4 has a conversion factor of 1.35. PETN has 1.7. Chloratite 3 has 2.2. plastic explosives only need...

    The MIRV - spoiler

the main point is that you can create up to 1T of TNT equivalent explosive force with conventional chemical explosives. a) cheaper b) a LOT less complex weapon design, therefore more reliable c) no remaining radiation so, the design is feasible, yes. but makes little sense. well...

    Far Cry 2

ok so i played for another 10 hours. and although the aforementioned ammo situation is no show stopper for me, there are other issues. the most glaring: it's just boring. move from A to B, with some checkpoints on the way. kill anything that moves at B. or go in stealthy (which works incredibly...

    9 Hours, 58 Minutes.

i never made that claim. but defeating 3 super mutants with superior weapons at level 3? no. just no. true, but like i said: this happened within the first 90 minutes of the game. as a matter of fact, i just did it again this morning, this time with the hunting rifle. that thing...

    9 Hours, 58 Minutes.

well, at level 3 i stumbled across some super mutants in the wasteland (there was a fire burning in front of an old church, curious as i am i checked it out). there were 3 of them. 2 had combat shotguns, one had a minigun(!). thanks to v.a.t.s. i easily disposed of them with my 10mm smg. so...

    9 Hours, 58 Minutes.

...and i finished the game for the first time at level 15. and i did side quests. trying to keep this spoiler free now. i don't quite know what to say. i am disappointed. while the time inside the vault was nicely done, the moment you exit, it goes downhill. while the environment is nice, it...

    Far Cry 2

well since you have to go to the arms dealer anyway do get decent (i.e. non-breaking) hardware, why not purchase ammo the same way? all arms dealers on the map are the same in any case and carry all your stuff regardless of where you are. i see how it makes things easier. i still don't like it. :)

    Far Cry 2

am i the only one bothered by the fact that all you ever pick up is generic "ammo"? no matter what you equip, be it the mp5, the g3 or even the AS50. kinda lame when you see the details that went into the firearms, elaborate un-jam animations and such.

    Fallout 3 reviews round-up #1

oh noez. apart from the setting and level design bioshock was ... well ... subpar IMHO.

Boy, 8, fatally shoots self with Uzi at gun show

well, no, the full sized uzi is pretty easy to shoot, actually, and in itself relatively heavy. it weights about the same as a G36, mind you. topic: sounds like a critical miss to me. many questions arise: was it the first time the kid had been shooting this thing? did they supervise and...

Stalker Clear Sky, Fallout 3, or Far Cry 2...

improved AI in clear sky? no way. the AI is just seriously unbalanced which is the main reason for the game being so hard. when you get killed time and time again from grenades thrown with pin-point accuracy at incredible distances from enemies that in now way could have seen you, you will see...

    S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky

i had no problems so far with the weight limit either. right know i carry 3 guns for "usage", have picked up two PK machine guns and a decent amount of ammo and am still below 50kg. what bugs me the most about this game is the AI though. for once, the AI is dumb as hell, but at the same time...

PC Action Germany reviews Fallout 3

sorry for the late reply. it is indeed a matter of content. can you play a game, see less than 100% of its' content and still be able to make a decent review? yes. can you do the same with books or movies? no. or are you implying that any and every review out there is based on...
