Real question: Does it bother you that Fallout 3 is canon?

Can't have it both ways. You cannot say that you are tired of these issues in the game and then use being able to fix it yourself as a way to dissuade the problem in the first place. You mentioned not liking Terminator: Salvation. Why don't you use a video editing program to recut the movie...

Real question: Does it bother you that Fallout 3 is canon?

Actually, the plot holes/inconsistencies are so numerous, that would be exactly why I would prefer it stricken from lore. I have zero personal issues with game play issues, as I started this thread dedicated trying to smooth over many of those atmospheric and gameplay-related problems...

    "Lore Friendly" FO3 mods

It's very easy for mod makers to go overboard with tweaking weapons and such, so it's often difficult to pick out the ones that don't make an easy game easier. I don't currently have a list of "Lore Friendly" mods for New Vegas, because NV is a little bit more civilized and developed and less...

Real question: Does it bother you that Fallout 3 is canon?

If you like Fallout 3, that is your opinion. Again, there are people who like FOBOS, Twilight and My Little Pony. I like Fallout Tactics. That's the nature of forums and discussion. If you believe that Fallout 3 is a positive game in the grand scheme, state your case, but don't be...

    "Lore Friendly" FO3 mods

After 10 months, an update for this would be necro-posting, but warranted for those looking for a few more items that would help smooth over the inconsistencies. @Makta, I haven't found anything like that for FO3 yet, sorry to say. General No more Explosive Cars from NMA - exploding cars...

Real question: Does it bother you that Fallout 3 is canon?

There's a difference between "official" continuity and personal fan-based opinion. Who cares? Fans of the works do. While we can debate all of the games as being official because they exist, we tend to listen to those who own and produce content. And since Bethesda owns Fallout, we tend...

Real question: Does it bother you that Fallout 3 is canon?

That's not the question that has been raised. The question is whether people have a problem with Fallout 3 being "canon" in terms of the rest of the Fallout franchise. It's not simply the open sandbox nature of the game, but the nature of it's story, and it's meaning to the rest of the...

Real question: Does it bother you that Fallout 3 is canon?

Can't you have both a deep, engaging, "good" story and also have the freedom of a wide open sandbox? Roleplaying games have advanced quite a long way, and it's not unreasonable to desire more complexity in a game. Especially one that is intended to follow the pedigree of Fallout 1 and Fallout 2.

Real question: Does it bother you that Fallout 3 is canon?

The fault in this line of thinking is that, by pointing out the plot holes, you have forgotten that we actually have taken in the work for what it is. At some point during a discussion on a work, the probability of someone stating a variation of "Why can't you just enjoy it for what it is?"...

Real question: Does it bother you that Fallout 3 is canon?

It's nothing like that. But it's not a reboot. A reboot would retell the story without acknowledging the existence of previous versions. Fallout 3 references and uses some of the events of Fallout 1 and 2, and then New Vegas acknowledges much of the changes made in Fallout 3.

Anyone got any bleach? Or lemon juice? Salt?

There are worse things out there, but yes, this sort of thing is kind of retarded, like that "Mole rat with boobs" mod that was floating around awhile back. The similarly themed Skyrim mod is just horrifying. If you value your sanity, you shall not click this...

New Vegas has ruined fallout 3 for me

They didn't even manage to finish off the Enclave. There's -more- Enclave out there, according to them. :|

    The Guns and Ammo Thread

Lots of people, obviously, but you should expect to see all kinds of stuff being sold, not just guns. Depending on where you're going, you might get some of the flea market action in there as well. Lots of "survival" stuff and hunting gear - lots of jerky, knives (both quality and cheaply made...

    FO3 or FO: NV?

I did have some fun in Fallout 3, but it's rather bland and boring for the most part. Only a few locations are actually interesting (and most simply serve as 'dungeons'), and it's just not a well-written story, no matter how miuch The best part of the game is the ability to mod it. And the...

    The Guns and Ammo Thread

Most preppers I've run into are pretty sane. Of course, there's a few who give the rest a bad image. But then, they were pretty nutty before "prepping" became big. I've never run into anyone who really believes in the zombie apocalypse, but it's been used to make prepping more fun, and more...

    The Radio stations suck

Wayne Newton is "Mister Las Vegas"... he certainly fits more than Three Dog's bad pirate radio voice. Mister New Vegas is much easier to listen to - as he actually talks about what's going on in the Wasteland, and isn't grating on the ears. The criticism is that he appears too often and...

    The Radio stations suck

copyrights are a PITA. With WMG and other groups pretty much out to milk music for every penny, it's hard to justify adding in lots of music at a certain price point. Thankfully, however, mods take care of that. Conelrad, Radio New Vegas Extended, Existenz, etc. etc. make the radios...
