    No Mutants Allowed: Newbs Guide

That's exactly it. When I first got here, I had to get pointed to the FAQs, then find the other ones, the spend alot of time reading and going over some older threads to catch up. I'm hoping to condense that process into one post which gives a cursory look at the whole deal and provides direct...

    No Mutants Allowed: Newbs Guide

Thanks. I know it might not be the right spot, but I couldn't think of anywhere else. I just noticed that the URL links didn't work. I'll fix that right now (put quotes over the address, HTML habit). Please, keep the feedback coming. I've noticed alot of new users coming in since the...

The Obligatory "What are you listening to" Thread

Alanis Morisette is on the radio and it's 11:11. I'm bored.

    No Mutants Allowed: Newbs Guide

I wholeheartedly agree. While I consider myself a bit more optimistic about the game then most, I fully understand most of the complaints about the preview so far. I'm simply trying to say "Fan consensus is this, this, and this." Instead of saying "Things that are wrong with Fallout 3 are...

    Freeware games about murdering people.

I don't really download simplistic games. I did download Urban Terror though, and that's a really fun FPS using the quake III engine. Fast paced, but with semi-realistic tactical combat.

Fallout PnP canceled, new license announced

You can get sued for developing game rules? Really? I mean, you just make up skills and apply stats to Fallout monsters/weapons and your good. Anybody with some D&D books and some time on their hands could do it.

    Fallout 3 at E3 - NYTimes

This is the way I see it. Art is creation, therefor creation is art. It may be derivative, cliche, or unpleasant, but it is still art. Like it or hate it, My Chemical Romance is just as much art as is Led Zeppelin. In many opinions far inferior art, but still art. Art can be criticized...

    No Mutants Allowed: Newbs Guide

NOTE: Before reading, I'd like to point out "Fallout Fans" and "NMA members" is used as a general term. There are exceptions to every rule and everybody has a different opinion. If you have any suggestions, corrections, or additions for the guide please pm me. A Newbs Guide to No Mutants...

Why the attachment to overhead/top-down isometric POV?

I'm personally inclined to agree in many ways with Eternal Dragon. I too always found it odd that you knew where everything was all the time. I would also like to see more tactics in the form of enviornmental interaction, cover, elevation bonus etc... I'd also like to say that an...

    Athabaska

Dan McGrew is actually a double homage. The origional name Dan McGrew references the Robert Service poem. However, it is also a reference to the British Sci-fi/Comedy Red Dwarf. In one episode, the characters enter a western themed VR game. One of the available game characters is...

    Fallout Easter Eggs

The Rat God quest in Klamath is actually a double reference. The obvious reference is in the dialogue with the use of the term RUS(Rodents of Unusual Size) from Princess Pride. The other is the quest itself. The idea of going into the celler of an industrial-like area and fighting through...

Unkillable Children and Can You Mod Them Out

Hmmm, I imagine the devs would be pretty wary. Still, if the content isn't in the original game code to begin with with, then the game rating cannot be changed. On top of that, the game is going to be a definite M anyways. Still, at the end of the day I don't think there will be killable...

    Guns n Ammo

For the matter of buying licensing to guns, I think it's only an issue if it's a name brand gun. For example, a 9mm pistol is a 9mm pistol, nobody owns the rights. However, a Glock 12 is a specific name brand product, like a Chrysler Cheville or Tide cleaning product, it needs to be licensed.

    Anybody here visit "Fark"

I've seen a couple of passing references to what I know as "Fark cliches", and I was wondering if anyone else on this forum visits the website?

I havn't played any Warcraft game for more then an hour, so I'm ambiguous as to the origions of the picture. Still, it's cool looking artwork and suits it's purpose as an avatar. 8.74241/10 It says Blue Oyster Cult, If you look closely, you'll see the rest of each word under each big...

At The Foot Of The Ladder (this is no fan art)

Man, I kinda know how you feel. All this creativity and alot of good ideas, then you sit down to do it and either decide it sucks, get bored, or both. Honest to goodness I have over a dozen unfinished screenplays, novels and stories floating around in the hard drive of some old computer at the...

    Secret Family Recipe

This is an excellent recipe of my Great Aunts that my mom cooks failry often. Truthfully, I've had friends say they would pay money for it, it's called Tortilla Soup. I've never made it myself, but this is the basics of it here: NOTE: This is a rouge estimate of the recipe, I never make...
