Fallout, Lore, Aliens, Easter Eggs, Bethesda and Mothershit Zeta

I don't think the owners of Doctor Who would care whether or not a "TARDIS" is part of Fallout's canon or not, because copyright infringement is copyright infringement. But you obviously would know that. Luckily, they didn't call it a TARDIS, and the "Unusual Call Box" succeeds in making a...

Woah, relax Daniel. Breathe, man. Where's your proof that the TARDIS is non canon? Also, I don't know who or what the Codex is. You guys seem to be heavily implying that it's a nasty place full of enraged zealots with pitchforks and crucifixes. Sounds like a pretty bad place, unlike NMA.

So they set it up to look like aliens at face value, but then a closer investigation gives another possible explanation. You guys already explained the military base skeleton situation, so: With the UFO crash site, it could be an actual UFO that the government has recovered from Roswell and...

Rebuttal of Escapist's "Bethesda Killed Fallout" article

Sitting in the darkness at 1 AM listening to a young woman's trembling voice as she faced death makes me feel something. Finding a dead cat laying next to a dead body in a building makes me feel something. Finding a handwritten note a few minutes later in a different area about how the cat was...

Rebuttal of Escapist's "Bethesda Killed Fallout" article

I just said "shoot her way out", not shoot the lock, which doesn't really work in real life. Might've been worth a try, at least before shooting herself. "Art is a diverse range of human activities in creating visual, auditory or performing artifacts, expressing the author's imaginative...

Rebuttal of Escapist's "Bethesda Killed Fallout" article

Video games incorporate graphic design, music, and writing - things traditionally in the art sphere. When a creator is passionate about their work, it shines through in the results. If it's a dull, hollow cash grab, it shows as well. But even a game like Fallout 76 has art: The player opens...

I just don't know much about the Survival genre, I posted release dates because you said there was a flood of survival games and I misunderstood which games you referred to. My bad. I tried to browse Survival on Steam just now but it appears they've apparently taken away or moved the ability to...

Rebuttal of Escapist's "Bethesda Killed Fallout" article

Picture two different baking competitions. The goal of one is to make a Halloween themed cake thats visually appealing, and the goal of another is to make a cake that tastes good. The cakes would be judged based on the criteria of the competition. A pretentious Master Chef can waltz over and...

Rebuttal of Escapist's "Bethesda Killed Fallout" article

Art was originally made for human entertainment and expression, which are inherently subjective. That's why I believe art should be judged subjectively; its original purpose and birth are subjective, so it matches. I know that others believe that art should be judged based on its objective...

Rebuttal of Escapist's "Bethesda Killed Fallout" article

I know the game is flawed but I can't bring myself to say that it's a bad game. In my head, a "good game" is one that I had fun with and a "bad game" is one that I don't enjoy. The way I view it is that games are art, so there is no such thing as an "objectively bad" game in my head.

Is it possible for everyone to co-exist together in peace as Fallout fans, or is this one of those things where the factions are doomed to fight each other for eternity

^ LOL R.Graves, I like you, man. You're almost as stubborn as me but with danker memes. RangerBoo, I'm not defending Mothership Zeta, I personally think the entire DLC should be deleted, I would rather replay Brotherhood of Steel than replay Zeta

I thought we were trying to have an intelligent debate backed by facts. I pasted the text of Log #17 to support my claim. You responded by calling me ignorant. You lose.

Paste the part of the log that proves they get the codes and that they use them. Show me evidence or give up. Going back and forth like this is a waste of time. The player doesn't have to redirect and fire the death laser. Canonically dead? Give me a break.

Rebuttal of Escapist's "Bethesda Killed Fallout" article

Fallout 2, Fallout 3, and the GECKs in both games are canon. If the GECK in Fallout 2 is seeds and holodisks, and the GECK in Fallout 3 is a terraforming device, then it's logically impossible for them to be the same item. They must be two different items with the same name.

Rebuttal of Escapist's "Bethesda Killed Fallout" article

Clone Wars wasn't on the same level of canon as the rest of the EU. It was separated into tiers with the movies at the top, then clone wars beneath it, then all other books/games/comics. Still lost a massive amount of content. Fallout Bible was discussed regarding the GECK being a box of seeds...
