you can have a billion writers, artists and such, but without a programmer, all you have is ideas and art. that doesn't count as a functional game. i've worked on enough mods and projects to know what fails and what doesn't. and believe me, it's all up to the programmers.

I meant say 2 people who know each others very well, and have a passion for what they are going to dedicate a couple of years on. And not some random programmer from the internets.

come back to me when you've finished your game and tell me i'm wrong. without programmers there is no game, there isn't even a mod for a game. if you do get a hold of a programmer, then they probably leave after a while due to some reason, aka. they won't dedicate enough time to a project...

programmers doesn't come in batches like writers and artists, they are a rare breed and you're lucky if you find a guy who is willing to dedicate most of his sparetime to your project. that's the horrible truth.

There are tons of people who love to draw post apoc and mutant stuff out there. I guess you just have missed the really skilled people by not getting to "hardcore" concept art communities and such. Or you have made a poor\mediocre presentation of your project, that will also scare people away.

How can a game with this many flaws get no scores under 90?

I really wonder why Bioshock scored so high. I mean, from the videos I've seen, it kinda looks a bit like You Are Empty in the gameplay, the firefights doesn't look fun or action packed at all. Their artwork is cool, but that shouldn't make a game score top marks all over.
